The concept was that somewhere in this cycle kids got disciplined by somebody...if they didn't get it at home they got it at school, or by the neighborhood, or if necessary the police...but they learned it someplace...
Now...if they don't teach themselves they don't learn it at all until they end up in jail with Bubba. ;)

kids today are messed up... we have 2 things to thank for that
1. media
2. parents
the media pumps your life full of false truths to make you feel 'cool' or whatever else you call it
they set the standard for what hacking is, they set the standard for what beautiful is, and what ugly is, the line between smart and stupid, we have the media to thank for most of that
parents, in there childhood parents were stricter *so my father tells me*... and it would make sense from a kids perspective that if your parents were harsh on you, you would be laid back on your kids...i know from experience i get away with way more then some kids should
how 2 more problems arise from the situation if combined
the people in our parents age group are currently running the media, they are the ones calling the shots on what is cool etc etc etc.... and most of these people have families of there own
there are many kids that belive there parents are too harsh on them..... and i feel they will try to be laid back on there kids..i fear for the era of my children...

This school's education authority supplied 600 laptops as part of a $850,000 project. The students are supposed to take them home to do homework, research etc. They and their parents signed an AUP and the parents were left in no doubt as to their responsibility for usage whilst the computer was at home.
Once you allow a machine to be physically removed from site, you surrender ownership. It becomes a matter of trust.
Given that these machines are being used outside of school hours and offsite, there will be an "on call" support service. Sometimes this will require the user to sign on with LOCAL ADMINISTRATOR rights. To facilitate this, there will be a local administrator password set up on each box. In this case it was the road name or whatever, and it was QUITE DELIBERATELY attached to the case of EACH AND EVERY machine.
This ensures that all students are equal, as all have the password, and prevents the skiddie bragging crap that would otherwise arise.
I hope that no one would seriously suggest that the administrators could not remember a single local admin password for all machines :eek:
As far as I am concerned this was a perfectly normal and acceptable thing to do.

Sorry nihil, following this logic, it would be "normal and acceptable" for end-users to sick a 'post-it' note on their monitors with their passwords on it in case support had to debug a problem with their machines.Quote:

Not quite the same, either the user is there to log in for you, or you use the admin password.Quote:

The original password was "50Trexler"..................9 characters, numbers & letters, upper and lower case.
"Some students" had this changed (no prizes for guessing which 13?) and what do you think the admins changed it to?
"15nil" :D ......................well they didn't want to let the poor wee chaps and chapesses getting bored whilst John The Ripper was doing its work?
I am now even more convinced of the hidden agenda I suspected earlier on. The whole thing reeks of a set-up?

I read about this last week a friend had send me a link i mean maybe they should be punish but not charge with a felony the DA is acting like they murder so one and hid the body,anyways here is the link.

I noticed they were likely to get probation..............a veritable sword of Damocles?
If any of them don't eat humble pie they are in it big time, you see one of them is already in trouble with the probation people and IS NOT being offered a deal :eek:
He/She will drag down anyone who pleads not guilty with them.
I do not think that is a coincidence, just like changing the admin pass to "15nil"..............sounds like a game score?...........I guess there were 15 targets originally?
Seems to me like the administration has been running rings round them all along?
