Actually, Europe is thinking about opening up its fuel preserve to help with the broken fuel lines that came out of New Orleans. It hasnt been confirmed, and I dont expect them to open their reserves until the US opens theirs ;)

El Reg has an interesting article :http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/09...ing_survivors/
from a NO based hostings company.
The way they describe it the city is FUBAR. It read like the plot from an 'end of the world' movie.

Mmmm diesel jam. ;)
Every single developed country got criticized by the UN, not just the US. And "200% more than the rest of the world combined" is just a false statement. You might want to check some stats first.Quote:
During the tsunami, we got critisized from the UN for not giving enough, even though we gave something like 200% more than the rest of the world combined. But the US gets hit and not a *****in peep from the UN.
gas stations in Virginia are running out of fuel already. Gas jumped from 2.58 average yesterday to 2.83 today and its scheduled to be at 3.10 by tomorrow, because of the oil rigs down in the Gulf.
you obviously don't have a clue what the UN is about or how it works... you expect a "sorry for the huricane" card with money in it ? Look up how much the UN as such gave to the nations hit by the tsunami... yeah, that's prolly less then you got pocketchange right now.Quote:

No one is saying ditch them... We are questioning their integrity. Isn't that what the UN loving, bush hating liberals do ? Question Bush's integrity ? But question their precious UN and all of a sudden we are trying to leave the UN.... Like it would be so bad anyways.
/sigh
... Anyways, I'm going to give blood tomarrow and I encourage everyone to do the same...

Just the beginning.
UK prices for fuel (in $ and US gallons)
Gas(petrol) = $6.40
Diesel = $6.60
now i see the humor in the jokes about the US and their obsession with gas guzzlers. well, its not really that funny.
however, i have a small car, so i can still cope.
~geez! whats the average price?Quote:

That is about average.
If you were to head to the far north or to the Western Isles it's over £1 a litre there (~$7)
amsterdam: $6.21

I liked the guide to saving gas on that link. Lots of useful tips but it doesn't say "get rid of the 3 ton, 6 wheeled, V8 pickup".
