Thanks. I will look into it. Let me know what you think. I am going to purchase the ASUS A8N-E, with the AMD 64 4000, and also with the Geoforce 7800 GT for my VGA. Should I purchase these items?

I think that looks really good :). Now the next important items you need: a good case and a good quality PSU no less then 500 watts, I would probably even go 600 watts, but that's just me. After you have those, good dual channel ram would be great. I don't think you need a new HDD but if you want SATA wouldn't hurt :).
To answer your sound card question, you don't need one. Some people say they greatly enhance your gaming experience because you hear things you never hear with onboard sound, if you want a sound card you can get one in the future, but save your money for the case, ram and PSU for now...
Do you have any recommendations for a case?
Look at newegg.com and/or tigerdirect.com and read the reviews...
Radeon GPU's
for info on the latest GPU's from Radeon...............
and don't forget the CustomPC site it has a LOT of reviews, AND it's an easy read ..............
Get a BIG case (full ATX, not sure about the new BTX standard).
If nothing else it make life easier when working in it.
Look for mounts for 120mm fans, they shift lots of air without making the noise of 80mm fans.
Cheiftec, Antec, Coolermaster, Lian Li, all make good quality classy cases.
You'll probably want a 3rd part CPU cooler rather than the stock item. I've read that the AMD 3800 is easy to overclock to the same level as the 4000. Might be worth saving on the chip and tweeking it up a little. The Boards mentioned before should let you do that as long as the cooler is up to scratch.
Guys,
Check this out.....This is what I purchased:
Asus A8N-E-$111.00
AMD 64 4000-$324
EFX GeForce 7800 GT - $299.00
All I need is RAM and a fan and a case......And recommendations on any of these?
umm... you also need a good quality power supply... Trust me, you don't want that massive investment of yours to die on you because you decided to skimp out on the power supply...
I don't really have the time right now to look for ram and a case, your motherboard supports dual channel, so I would go with 1 gig of dual channel...
for all your fans I would recommend quiet PC UK site, but what they stock is available elsewhere, just use the site to find the required items .........
How much WATTS should I purchase?
