Can you see how this just drives us all a little crazy? We love our kids and want to protect them. When we can't, we get all riled up. It is a natural response to that kind of threat. I have no sympathy for the perps here. Death is too good for them and I don't think there is enough pain that can be inflicted that could possibly provide the justice required.
What is scarey is that anyone thinks that these folks can be rehabilitated. Case in point, Mary K Le-whatsits. Child rapist. Never rehab'd. Married victim.
We have a serious disconnect here, folks. I just hope we can figure out a real solution.
I'm not much for sadism towards criminals (even though I'm a firm believer in Capital Justice), and "humane" methods of execution are just too bothersome and expensive. I'm a firm believer in the Chinese method of a bullet to the brain-stem. That organ donor idea was great too. It even works with the Chinese bit, because you're definately not going to use the brain. Too many people would object to it though. Being instantly killed is so much worse than having your body shutdown, slowly suffocating as your heart stops pumping oxygen to the lungs that no longer can inhale. Isn't that so much less cruel?
Lets not forget that by dieng by a bullet to the brain stem you die almost instantly, which means that your body shouldn't have a chance to actually realize you are dieng and won't release all of those bifty euphoric drugs that it can, making the death less fun then through a slower method.
Actually the donor idea has been around for a long time. Of course the big problem with that is where do you stop. As has been said there is a big market for body parts. there is already a black market for donor organs.
It is the type of thing that starts off with ok we use pedophills after all each one could save about 10 lives. Then we can also use the other inmates that are on death row. Have to use them quickly before they start to deteriorate so cut down on the appeals. They were innocent oops! but they did save 10 innocent lives so it is a good trade off. Ok there are also these crinimals who are serving life sentences why waste money, they will never be allowed back into socitey anyway but they do have healty organs so they can go into the organ bank. And down on the line............. Two red lights danger to socitey in he goes..... ect
For the pedophilles I say go with the polarbear and seal oil solution. For the rest bring back hard labor.
The problem with almost any innovative policy is where dow e stop. Patriot act? Everything needs checks and balances. And on the matter what if we chop up someone who saves 10 peoples lives but later turned out ot be innocent? Well at least we didn't use lethal injection, and killing an innocent for nothing, that person did end up saving lifes.
