Choose express. We just want to see if it works :)
Just to explain, your computer can be set up to automatically download and install updates. By manually what I mean is that I am wanting you to do is go to the site (you must already be there) and start the process yourself. I couldn't tell from the log if your system was doing it automatically or not. It could be, but I'm not sure.
But for right now, just click the express button and let's see if it works.
i click on the express button
Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer. To continue:

Let me read about more steps that might be required to solve the problem
i click on the register, after re-registering, still cannot.

Then go to Windows update and try the "express" update button again.
i tried both method.
it give me the same error that i posted earlier
Ok, two questions:
1) When you ran the scannow program, you said it didn't find any problems, right?
2) You are still getting the same error message when you try to update: "Files required to use Windows Update are no longer registered or installed on your computer." Is this correct?
yes
Hmm,
Well, one program says files are missing or unregistered; the other says they are ok.
Hmm, is this a work computer that is owned by a company you work for or is it a computer you own?
