the math question is just misleading lets look at it another way then
each person pays $10 = $30
room = $25 so there is $5 that needs to be returned
each person recieves $1 back so thats $3
and the bell boy keeps $2
so the $3 the people recieve back plus the bellboys $2 = $5 plus the cost of the room $25 = $30
its juts the way it was said that makes it seem like there is a dollar missing when there isn't
its like the how many fingers & thumbs thing
try it - count backwards from 10 on one hand eg:: 10, 9, 8, 7, 6 then add the total number of fingers and thumbs from your other hand to the 6 you reached when counting backwards - that equals 11 but you surely only have 10 fingers and thumbs???
