My friend Moopsy posted a link to a site which has a really high amount of posts.. and with these things, eventually people run out of things to talk about and just start spouting mindless babble... and believe me, that site has a lot of it....Quote:

Just an update on how my day is going (since this IS the world's longest thread in the making)...why is it, being a unix admin, I'm having to literally hack into a server to get root for a machine that we're responsible for?
My boss: "Damnit, I want to know why we don't have root for that box...the french don't have responsibility for it and it's on our property!" (I work at a company that's owned and headquartered in France)
Me: "Well, per the reboot yesterday, I didn't think about going to single-user mode at the console and nobody's got the root password. Someone has it because they cleaned up / which was 100% yesterday when I checked, along with the semaphores which were trashed."
My boss: "Hmmm, so someone *does* have it, yet they emailed the wrong password yesterday to half the world and still didn't get it to you so you could fix it?"
Me: "Right, someone's got it...so says the successful attempt to su to root about six times today so far."
My boss: "Damnit, I want you to get root on that box!"
Me: "Well, I *could* get root, but it's not very orthodox and you *are* the head of internal security as well..."
My boss: "Well, I didn't hear anything...I just want us to have root for that box, sudo installed, and nobody else has root access outside of sudo, which will be configured for them on a business-need basis."
Me: "Ok, you're the boss...I'll make sure I clean up after myself..."
*ten minutes later*
Me: "Ok, we've got root, it's changed, sudo's installed, and all tracks are clean. You're gonna get phonecalls now, that's for sure."
My boss: "Right on...screw 'em if they can't take a joke..."
I love my job!
I am currently trawling through the tutorials forum for a tutorial to put in the Newsletter.

Ennis make sure you choose 'from the beginning" in your private message control page for every folder you clean cause otherwise old msg's are still there. But you probably already noticed that?

An Irishman walks into a bar in Dublin, orders three pints of
Guinness and sits in the back of the room, drinking a sip out of
each one in turn.
When he finishes them, he comes back to the bar and orders three more.
The bartender approaches and tells him, "You know, a pint goes flat after I draw it; it would taste better if you bought one at a time."
The Irishman replies, "Well, you see, I have two brothers. One is in America, the other in Australia, and I'm here in Dublin. When we all left home, we promised that we'd drink this way to remember the days when we drank together. So I drinks one for each o' me brothers and one for me self."
The bartender admits that this is a nice custom, and leaves it there.
The Irishman becomes a regular in the bar, and always drinks the same way: He orders three pints and drinks them in turn.
One day, he comes in and orders two pints. All the other regulars take notice and fall silent. When he comes back to the bar for the second round, the bartender says, "I don't want to intrude on your grief, but I wanted to offer my condolences on your great loss."
The Irishman looks quite puzzled for a moment, then a light dawns in his eye and he laughs. "Oh, no, everybody's just fine," he explains, "It's just that me wife had us join that Mormon Church and I had to quit drinking.
