I'm a fan of RPG's, and this is the closest video game I've found yet that resembles an RPG. Everything else (ie Final Fantasy) is more like interactive fiction.

for the pc i haven't played many, but Operation Flashpoint.

for NES...Super Mario Bros 3.

I'll also go with the Civilization series. I haven't played the first Civ but Civ 2 was excellent and Civ3 is even more perfect. :)
I also like Deus Ex, it has got a very nice plot with conspiracies but I haven't played it for a year now. I mainly surf and IRC and if I play, I play Robot Battle (see below) or Civ3.
With shareware games Robot Battle is currently my choice #1.
Finnish SW games like are Triplane Turmoil, The Fight of the Sumo Hoppers, Mine Bombers and Wings were also top names some year(s) ago. You find all of those with Google if you want.

Blood 2, driver, Quake II,Brick attack(on cell phone), and my favorite game is trying to keep computers and networks up:)

for Half-Life - TFC > CS. TFC is just the best overall. oh yea, and as far as the Bunny-Hopping issue, i dont know what they did to CS(cause i NEVER play that, but i did hear that they newbified recent releases and made it worse than it already was), but in TFC you can still get up to about 170% of your suposed "limit" if your good enough.

Starcraft, Diablo II, Unreal Tournament. Amen.
Oh, and Final Fantasy VIII for PC.
