I've been avoiding this tread but what the hey...
User3471. I've read everything and noticed that although you meant to challenge peoples pride and perspectives, your english came off quite wrong. Not only did you piss off all the members of this site, you disgraced the memories of many people.
You wrote that writing accident was an error. Choose your words right before posting here. People are sensitive to such a topic. You, yourself said that this was an american site, so why challenge such a feeling?
You also brought up the whole soft lumber trade dispute. While some may feel that it could be that the states are placing Canada in a no win situation, it is in no way an act of terrorism or a threat. It's a way to conduct business. The United States, Canada, Mexico, and other countries have a free trade agreement. Trucks from Mexico can drive into Canada, trucks from Canada can drive in the United States.
The site you linked (Soft Lumber Trade Site - Canada.com) will even show you information you missed about the whole trade agreements, discussions and so. About the whole steel thing with Australia, ask Confirmed Kill, he'll fill you in about it.
I agree that everyone has a right to an opinion and to express it. You did. But you cannot expect that the americans and supports remain quiet and not express themselves as well. You took their constitution as a defence to speak, well their constitution allows them to express themselves in any form thats legal to your opinion.
Try to turn a leaf. Like many have said, avoid political issues (especially pertaining to America and Sept. 9/11) and word your statements properly and with solid facts. Hope to see you last and contribute good information to this community.
User37.. did NOT say anywere in THIS thread that Amerika is terrorist... I expect people who say things here (on this site) are at least a little bit intelligent and I treat all this people like they're intelligent. Don't ask dumb questions or neg me because i forgot to say something that's already been told 200 times in the thread. If I have to be clear on every word I say every post would be at least double the thread size and that's stupid if you already understood me with just 12 words (because my post wasn't 12 words long i have to say here that my post wasn't 12 words long, because you wouldn't understand me if I didn't say that).

in post 33 you stated that you know enough about the subject to state your opion, which was, you think user3471 was right! ( i really have respect for such an opinionated person!)
so your saying, using your wealth of knowledge, that america is killing people in mass, in afganistan, and terrorizing canada and australia.
Ok this thread had a good run, time to close it.
No, i don't.Quote:

neel
i don't believe you do think that, im just trying to point out that explaining what you say could keep you from being mis-understood.
well, some Americans may be ignorant, but you're going to find ignorance everywhere. But, I say there is a fine line between ignorance and stupidity. Ignorance is not knowing something, but stupidity is not wanting to know. To call the majority of America ignorant is very untrue. We will be grieving for our loss a long time. The reason why are pain is so deep towards 9-11 is that people didn't have to die. Those people had families, and they just didn't have to die. The ones that are ignorant are the people that support those hijackers. This attack didn't tear us away, it just made us stronger. While I know that YOU don't support this (or hopefully not), we need time to grieve. Unless you were here and you saw all those faces on the news, crying and upset, troubled by the loss, you can't understand.
Okay, I've avoided it long enough.
User, it seems you are wondering "Why did America attack Afganistan? and "Is this not a terrorist attack on Afganistan?"
It seems to me that these are your questions, and I will try to answer them, not as an american, but as a political leader of any nation.
What we have, the facts. For some time an unknown "political faction" has been bombing buildings of both political nature (embassies), and non-political nature (WTC). These particular attacks killed several and wounded more. We must look into this furthur. Lets recall all the attacks that have taken place on us from this unknown "political faction":
1983- April 18th Eighty-three people are killed at the US Embassy in Beirut.
October 29th- 241 US Marines are killed in a truck bombing in Beirut by the Islamic Jihad.
1984-September 20th- The US embassy in the Beirut is bombed- 15 are killed
1986- September 5th A Pan Am aircraft is hijacked by Palestinain terrorists. Twenty passengers are killed.
1988- Dec. 21, Lockerbie, Scotland: N.Y.-bound Pan-Am Boeing 747 exploded in flight from a terrorist bomb and crashed into Scottish village, killing all 259 aboard and 11 on the ground. Passengers included 35 Syracuse University students and many U.S. military personnel. Two Libyan intelligence officers were tried under Scottish law in The Hague; only one, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi, was found guilty, in Jan. 2001.
1993- Feb. 26, New York City: bomb exploded in basement garage of World Trade Center; killing six and injuring at least 1,040 others. Six Middle Eastern men were later convicted in this act of vengeance for the Palestinian people. They claimed to be retaliating against U.S. support for the Israeli government.
1996- June 25, Dharan, Saudi Arabia: truck bomb exploded outside Khobar Towers military complex, killing 19 American servicemen and injuring hundreds of others. Thirteen Saudis and a Lebanese, all alleged members of Islamic militant group Hezbollah, were indicted on charges relating to the attack in June 2001.
1998- Aug. 7, Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania: truck bombs exploded almost simultaneously near two U.S. embassies, killing 224 (213 in Kenya and 11 in Tanzania) and injuring about 4,500. Four men, two of whom had received training at al-Qaeda camps inside Afghanistan, were convicted of the killings in May 2001 and later sentenced to life in prison. A federal grand jury had indicted 22 men in connection with the attacks, including Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden, who remained at large.
2000- Oct. 12, Aden, Yemen: U.S. Navy destroyer USS Cole was heavily damaged when a small boat loaded with explosives blew up alongside it. Seventeen sailors were killed in what was apparently a deliberate terrorist attack. Prime suspect thought to be Osama bin Laden, or members of his al-Qaeda terrorist network.
2001- Sept. 11, New York City and Arlington, Va.: American Airlines Boeing 767 and United Airlines Boeing 767, both en route from Boston to Los Angeles, were hijacked and flown only minutes apart into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center in New York City. Shortly afterwards, American Airlines Boeing 757, en route from Washington, DC, to Los Angeles, crashed into the Pentagon. A fourth hijacked plane, operated by United and headed from Newark to San Francisco, crashed in a field near Shanksville, Pa. Both World Trade Center towers collapsed, and a section of the Pentagon was destroyed. All 266 passengers and crew aboard the planes were killed; total dead and missing numbered about 3,263. The names of the 19 hijackers, four of whom have been connected with terrorist Osama bin Laden, were released in mid-September.
Now, we have had constant threats and attacks since 1983 and earlier. With this final attack, we will respond. We have lost to many lives, both american and foreign, to let this continue. Upon investigation of the crimes and bombings we happen to find a computer document detailing the force that will be used against our, and other nations of the world.
The Al-Qaeda Training Manual
Upon reviewing this we realize that the bombings and killing will not stop until the "political faction" is dealt with accordingly. Many others realize that this manual uses the same propaganda tactics put into use by Aldolph Hitler, which we have already seen, can be a very powerful aid in the developement of an army. This must not be left alone, as was the army of Hitler. We must stop it before it gets to the World War level of military force.
Upon gathering all known intelligence we determine that most if not all of these bombings have been tied to the middle eastern region, so accordingly we see who has control of the region. It comes to our attention that Osama Bin Laden has the greatest influence in this region, and has had several ties with many of the organizations involved with these attacks. There is our target. If you disrupt the leadership of a group, the disorganization will begin to filter its way down the organization. Eventually it will be a disorganized faction of groups.
It is for these reasons that the USA has stepped its military into that region. I must also remind all that the attacks have not been specific to the US, there have also been attacks in Sweden, Rome Italy, Israel, Zurich Switzerland, Athens Greece, Munich, Phillipeans, Yugoslav, Belfas, London, France, the list goes on and on. Are we to just brush these attacks off like they didn't happen?
The attack on the WTC was the largest terror attack in history. What is to say that the destruction and killing will just continue to rise to even larger targets? It is for this reason that the US is putting a stop to it.
Again, just my $.02

Yeah...we've made mistakes....done things that we're not proud of....care to enlighten me on exactly which country IS perfect? And while we're at it, when disaster strikes or freedoms are threatened, which country does (most of) the rest of the world look to for assistance? Hmmmmm....would that be the U.S.? For such an evil country, it seems that a lot of good is requested of, and delivered by, The U.S.. As Christ said (regardless of if you believe in him or not, this makes good sense) "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone". How about we all just shut up, quit posturing and try to get along?
