Good point about the wall and the finally falling, not so many years ago but few now even remember it and what it stood for. Guess the point is I know so many people including myself that are part of international a family. Given the fact that if you are called into question it is not a question of answering the door saying come on in I have nothing to hide it is about people bursting through your door handcuffing you giving you a federal warrent, pointing guns in your childrens faces, take a look at a federal warrent being seved in photo you can google the story of Ely the little boy from Cuba saved at sea. This is what being questioned or actions being taken when one is put in that position.

...Wanna know somethin' scary? ...You're ALL correct. Every post here has some validity, some more, some a bit less, but all have validity. Damn, now that's really confusing, when everyone is correct.

Thanks for the approval, for the past three days I have been reconsidering my thoughts because of this thread. I think Pale has made a very good argument.
Free Thought can never be taken from us!!!!!! It is our final right.

As a follow up on this thread I simply offer a link to my local paper http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...15_tips21.html
I just want to point out again this is in my local paper and that this idea is a bad one, and offer a story as printed. In Americas quest to make average people report on their neighbors there will be people that take things into their own hands. By doing so they place us all in danger, who and where will death result from this policy? How many neighbors will die becuse YOU think that they present a danger? How many people will go to prison acting on what THEY thought was the right thing to do?
"Williamburg VA: Fearing terrorists, man shoots at low flying helicopter.
A man armed with an assult-style rifle opened fire on a helicopter landing in a residential neighbor-hood, thinking the chopper was carrying terrorists, police said.
Helicopter pilot John Sutton landed his helicopter July 13 at home of businessman John Peters to pick him up, police said.
John Chwaszczwski, a semii retired construction worker, became alarmed when the chopper swooped over his garage, about a block away.
"Maybe I overreacted, but I did feel this was terrorism ay it's ut-most." Chwaszczwski said.
Sutton was charged with recklessly operating and aircraft, a misdemenor, Deputy Chief Ken Middlebrook said Friday. If convicted, he could face a month in jail.
Chwaszczwski was charged with interfering with a aircraft, discharging a firearm, and AR-15 rifle, in a public place, reckless handling of a firearm and assulting Sutton. If convicted, he faces up to eight years in prison amd $10,000.00 in fines."

Exactly. Even if our government (or elements thereof) DOESN'T abuse the system (ah hah hah.) you'll still get Clem and His Boomstick. (No offense to cultured non-redneck-stereotype people named Clem.)
It's just going to put a whole big can of whoop-ass-descriminatory-policies in the hands of some of the public.

Well as a result of reading the story I called my brother (we both fly) said I think it is a bad idea to buzz my house now I'm across the street from a school someone may shoot at us. I also found it odd the pilot was hired to do a job the businessman payed for his service yet he did not cause to all this to happen? OOPS I make money I can have a helicopter pick me up, ah err well forget that I can fly a helicopter and would never land in such a place for any amount of money.

Just on the side of things, many of you may have heard of two filtering programs that US LEA's have (apparently) been setting up in ISP's all over the states: Echelon and Carnivore
I've been hearing about these two for years now, and how they have spread throughout the world. ACLU has an echelon watch: http://www.aclu.org/echelonwatch/highlights.html
It's a real shame when a government resorts to spying on their own people.

”These were standard tactics for the Stasi -- the East German secret police -- but they should be repugnant to every American.”
When TIPS is fully operational, the United States would have a higher percentage of government informers than the former communist East Germany, according to an analysis by investigative journalist Ritt Goldstein.
“Assuming the pilot program is initiated in the 10 largest cities, about one out of 24 Americans -- or 4 percent of the population -- would become citizen-spies,” Dasbach noted. “It’s time to ask all Americans: Should you trust a government that doesn’t trust you?”
Equally disturbing, Dasbach noted, is that the TIPS program mandates that all data collected by the citizen-informants be entered into a Justice Department database and made available to state and local law enforcement agencies.
“It’s frightening to think that your plumber, UPS driver or handyman might have the power to label you “suspicious” and insert your name into a government database without your knowledge,” Dasbach said.
“Informant reports are also notoriously inaccurate. A 1992 report by Harvard University’s Project on Justice found that many informants routinely embellish the truth or even fabricate reports.
“Thanks to the TIPS program, you could wind up having to explain your private behavior to an FBI agent simply because the cable guy noticed something “suspicious” or a neighbor doesn’t like you.

The purpose of the Terrorist attacks was to destroy America. How would do this first strike at some of their symbols? Then hide in caves, let the American goverment panic and turn against it very people, then turn neighbor against neighbor. Has our own goverment not continued to play into this concept not only with TIPS, but if your a suspected of having ties to terrorists and are arested and are allowed an attorney the goverment can listen in on your converstation with them. The goverment now can go to your place of worship and spy on what is being said. Our own military may soon be used for domestic purposes and law enforcement. The ill fated cliper chip so the goverment always had a back door into your computer. Security check points to go onto a ferry to go home from work by state police in this state. Already law at the birth of a child they Must be issued a social security number. These are my own thoughts some nut case from the Middle East commited a senseless act, and then lets our own goverments take away our civil liberties. In effect this nut is going to win and the American way of life if this keeps up will be gone forever how? By our own goverments actions.
