Hmm, Beer :)
My favorite of them is Geniuss (sorry bad speller).
Unfortunatly, all beer around here (west coast US) sux...
Can't get Geniuss on draft (least no-where i've found) and almost all the beers have been stripped down to only about 3-5% alch instead of the normal 8-12% most of them should contain...
As such, I tend to stick with my Rum drinks, don't really matter what - Rums good with anything.
Oh and for the side conversasion of getting messed up quick, take a few shots of 'liquid cocaine' and you'll remember that feeling for awhile...
(Liquid cocaine is equal parts of each 151proof bacardi rum, Yagermister, and Rumplmints)
Given for those emergancy, need messed up now occasions, I keep a liter of 190proof everclear in the cubby.

screw the liquid cocain, back in High school when I had a rotten day I would wash it down with the becardies 151, that stuff straight will kick you in the head. Unfortunitly my body dosn't aperciate anything over 100 proof any more, must be an age thing.

A pint or three of Guiness is good , almost any european or microbrewed will suffice though (excepting Delerium Tremens, quite possibly the only bad beer from belgium, the bottle looked cool with the pink elephants and i expected it to be good due to its place of origin ,but damn it was nasty. I should have took the name into account.

A Vodka martini is so much tastier than a gin martini.
bpiedlow: That may be how you've had a liquid cocaine, but it's just another bar shooter. You'll never find the same mixtures, same as mixed drinks. I've seen blue motorcycles, electric motorcycles, and electric popsicles, yet they're all the same drink. A snake bite back home is a shot of tequila with lemon and salt, here a snake bite is a glass of half beer half apple cider (very disgusting). A liquid cocaine here is Jagermeister and Gold Schlager, at least it was in the last bar i was in. I've had fuzzy navels with and without orange juice. Bars never seems to do them the same. Hell a double long island iced tea and a regular long island iced tea taste nothing alike at Red Lobster.

Ok... I know a bunch of drunken, alcoholic computer geeks aren't letting a thread about beer die. Come on here people. Beer Beer Beer Beer.... Beer Beer Beer Beer.. ok so you can't hear the tune as i say it, but you can see the word. I just picked up a case of steeler lager last night, 27.50 CDN for the case. It's brewed in Hamilton, Ontario and it's actually a pretty damn good beer. :) Let's have more beer stories...

Goood God HT thats the most disgusting thing I have ever heard of , mixing vodka and vermouth? half the point of a martini is the gin :) now Ihave herad of a vodka gin martini, and straight vodka on ice mistakenly called a martini but vodka and vermouth?
Oh for beer, any one here been in Iowa, in the quad cities there is a pub called the front street brewery, they make the best chocolate stout I have ever had.

I'll give this thread a little twist with... prices! :)
How much does a can/bottle of beer cost where you guys are? Here are some (approx.) prices for Belgium.
Supermarket
Stella Artois: 24 x 25-cl bottles: around 9 USD.
Cheap supermarket-beer (pils): 24 x 25-cl bottles: around 5 USD.
One Stella Artois can (33cl): 40 cents.
Chimay Blue: 24 x 33cl-bottles: around 25 USD.
Duvel: 24 x 33cl-bottles: around 23 USD.
Bar
Stella Artois (from a keg) - 25cl: 1.50 USD.
Duvel (33-cl bottle): 2.20 USD.
Most bars serve one brand of pils (either Stella Artois or Jupiler), and also have at least some special beers (Duvel, Leffe, Chimay, Grimbergen). Most also serve some international beers (Guinness, Carlsberg). Bars serving Heineken are outlawed here (for their own safety) :D

In Alberta ,Canada beer is about a ~1$/bottle/can(330/345mls) of domestic , 9-12$ for a sixpack of import or good microbrew, I paid $6.25 for a pint of guiness the other evening at a pub.(all in canadian dollars) Prices and availability are a little different province to province.
