Discussion and learning. Just because you "teach" (don't kid yourself, that's not what is going on here) someone doesn't mean they learn. From the original post, Faqt indicated a large desire to be pointed to the correct materials, and my initial post was more about the way OTHERS responded. If you notice, not a single person gave her links to materials that she requested, they immediately responded by giving out potential immediate solutions, instead of letting Faqt find them on her own.

There could be numerous reasons.
Everyone who has suggested ssh thus far is on the wrong path, and you are wasting your time following that idea. The whole point of the exercise is to run telnet and get it through the firewall.
