amazeingly asbat-ansar, dosn't seem to have a link to husain, in fact the CIA seems to list them as small uneffective procupied with internal house keeping...big threat there. As far as I can see the main reason that bush went into iraq is because he though it was a soft target. A quick in, set up a goverement and everyone home for the 4 of july.

Syria is a sponsor of terrorism and has been for decades, in fact the Baath (yep same) party is in power there, and they are ruthless at controlling any threat to it’s power. The Syrians have not been as bold as the Iraqis so they are still there (See note above about attacking Iran.). They Iraq and Syria became better buddies after 1991 and there are concrete ties to money and goods rolling back and forth for decades, especially after da war by daddy Bush. Iran, Turkey, Israel, and Saudi Arabia are different stories, but I challenge the notion that Islamic extremists hate the leader of Iraq because he is secular. They hate them ALL, because to their Islamic Belief system the leaders of Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, etc. etc. are CORRUPT. They compromise and find refuge in these places anyway because that is all they have and they usually perform some sort of service to the thugs who tolerate their existence. Interestingly enough Al Quida got its start in Syria as Moslum (Muslim) Brotherhood. As you can tell I am no fan of the Hussein or Assad (Syria) families. It’s seems easy to call Bush a dictator and a Nazi and look at these families and have pity when one has no clue about the world. In general terms.

Ansar al-Islam is a radical Kurdish Islamic group that is supportive of Saddam Hussein's regime. This group is located in the pseudo-autonomous Northern Iraq. This group has ties with Taliban and al-Qaeda. It is the most radical group operating in the Iraqi Kurdistan region.
Activities
Ansar al-Islam recent activities include: razing of beauty salons, burning a schools for girls, and murdered women in the streets for refusing to wear the burqa. It has seized a Taliban-style enclave of 4,000 civilians and several villages near the Iranian border. It is also responsible for ambushing and killing of 42 Kurdish soldiers. Ansar al-Islam is in a state of war with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). It was responsible for the assassination in 2001 of a senior official of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), Franso Hariri, and for the attempted killing of Burhan Salih, head of the PUK-led Iraqi Kurdistan regional government. However, Ansar al-Islam is not in armed confrontation with the KDP.

According to reports, the group has received at least $600,000 from al-Qaeda, and a delivery of weapons and Toyota Land Cruisers. The leader of Ansar al-Islam, Mullah Krekar has been captured in September of 2002.

lol it's easy to understand that after 1991 Syria and Iraq became best friends. They worked very close together. Where was Osama at this time? In Syria? Sudan? Iraq? After the 80s it was Sudan then Afghanistan. Both countries have roots in the same party and both parties rose to power and induced a stronghold on each respective country.
Osama didn't form his union with terrorism to behead Hussein. He supported the mujahedeen to eliminate Soviet Occupation of Afghanistan. You see he hates the Saudi's just as much. That is the point I made, I don't think you picked up on it. He hates them all, that's what Al Quida is all about besides killing Americans they want to remove all the corrupt leaders of Islam. After the Soviets left Afghanistan the Saudi people applauded him as a hero, he turned back non-Muslim aggression. It was the first war in Iraq that turned Al Quida’s eye. I was being sarcastic with it being the only logical answer, meaning that I am supporting my point that it may have been not only made, but placed there by those in terrorist orginizations, the black market, or yes even the "GUERRILLAS."
