This is a war with a difference.
You are not fighting a nation state, there is no infastructure to destroy to weaken the enemy, they are everywhere, living in our cities, using our hospitality and openness to make themselves comfortable, using our laws to keep their sorry asses out of jail.
The one thing that REALLY burns my butt............. Their apologist of a lawyer, saying that it is beyond belief that my client could do such a thing................
As this war is different from ANY that have gone before, we can no longer expect to learn lessons from our military past.
We HAVE to learn on the move, this is dangerous, and is Darwinism at its most extreme. Try one tactic, it fails, you LOSE PEOPLE. Next day try a differnet tactic, and so on.
Those US states that still wont allow Darwinian theory to be taught because it goes against the Biblical text........................

This is a war like NO other, and as such it will be fought and won / lost as much on your TV screens as in the battlefields.
In the Falklands conflict ? We STILL cannot refer to it as a war...............
We allowed the press to travell with the forces, but once there, they had to use only military TX/RX kit, and they were put at the back of the list of priorities.
This allowed the Brit army to go about its business, without being shot in the foot by over zealous reporters trying for that scoop.......
Apart from when John Nott (Defence Minister) gave details of the Parachute Regiment imminent attack on Goose Green. Col H, 2 Para C/O threatened to prosecute him for putting his men into danger. Col H died in the attack.
The US lost its way in Vietnam because you allowed the press to influence what you could see or do. This does not account for the likes of Mai Lai (Spell) where it was good old fashioned ill discipline at work.
Which brings me back:
Our forces are better trained and better disciplined now, than at any time in our history, the enemy is zealous and determined. But, they can only survive with the oxygen of publicity, deprive them of that and their recruitment is hit.

We have to KILL ALL of their fighting machine, the troops, the REMF's, the dealers who supply money, weapons and ordinance.
We HAVE to educate those left, to realise that the dead are NOT going to heaven, that martyrdom is something that should only be allowed for those that avow it. We have to give those left SOMETHING to hold on to.......In a nutshell there is Feck all in their lives.
