Canadian courts have deemed it ILLEGAL for people who got an early copy of the book to read it.

Not sure how it is legal to posses it but not read it. Charge the store, take the copies back, but making it illegal to read the damn thing ? Also heard that the Canadian distributor is offering signed copies (after the realease date, of course) to those who return it voluntarily.

Seems like a waste of the resources of the justice system to inflame the hype.

point: disney is bigger then miramax.... someone found a way to possiably bring down a giant *disney and dogma* so they attacked.....

You say that you are 16, so you are in the best position to answer my query.............did you think that Harry Potter books attracted you to Satanism? or maybe made you believe in dragons (I won't mention Trolls, as you can find them on AO :D ) or diluted any religious beliefs you might previously have had?

I also wonder about Tolkien and the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings? Have you read those? and did they have any influence?

Another question, as you are closer, at what age do you think that people really understand a Harry Potter book?

I am too old to really be able to answer those questions............I can only guess. If you do not wish to post please send a PM as I am interested in your opinions.

harry potter books are fun to read and keep me interested.... and the movies are great cause hermionie...well.. i wont go into that :rolleyes: :D

i have always been interested in that type of stuff... swords, spells, dragons, massive wars that didnt include gunfire *warcraft!!*

and besides i dont belive in god in the first place... just doesnt make sense to me so i choose not to
i have nothing against people who do, i honor you passion.... but its just not MY passion


theese books keep readers locked in every page of the way

anyone who tries to attack these books are probably illiterate anyway *pointed at the rednecks in my home town that hate these books*

from my point of view i have always had a high reading level and comprehension *spelling on the other hand...*
i have been able to read and understand college level material since 5-6th grade *10-12 years old*

a 3rd grader might belive these are real... that when they turn the golden age for wizards and witches that they might be chosen... but beyond that you understand that this isnt real, its fiction for a reason.... its around to make you laugh, cry, excited, etc etc....
many of the readers of the HP books know what they are reading... yet many do not...
i remember reading books when i was younger with my parents and not really knowing if what was said was real or fake... and frankly i didnt care... i had other interests on my mind

BTW I know what you mean about reading.............my mother used to take me to the adult library so I could get books on science, geography, history, wildlife, botany etc.........

The kids library didn't have that sort of stuff, and by the time you were old enough you had discovered sport, beer, wimmin............but not neccessarily in that order :D
