Ok it is true that Ireland has got a cric( cough )ket team but I have yet to meet any one who will even admit to having gone to one of their matches let alone playing on it. Cricket in Ireland is only for those who cant play hurling, rugby or football(gealic or soccer).
As for starting fights the Irish are always willing to fight. Unfortunately more often than not amongst ourselves or for others and rarely for ourselves and against others. As oliver cromwel said " put an irishman on a spit and you will always find an other to turn him."

Well if it twern't the French we would have to find someone else.....besides, they are just so comical when it really matters...and IMHO they actually like it, otherwise if everyone stopped ridiculing them...then they would really be irrelevant...eh!

Well atm i would say its because they are giving us plenty of reasons to be,. But lets keep in mind that society needs to have something to look at as bad and good all the time. ATM the kid getting picked on by everyone else is France, maybe in the future they will hide meekly int he corner and some other country will step up, pull somthing retarded, and take france's place as the but of all of our jokes.

Actually Ark_templar that is a good question. For the English or other europeans on the site it's normal. The english insult the french who insult the dutch who insult the italians who insult the germans who insult the english who insult the ......ect while everyone but the english love the irish while the irish bitch about everyone themselves included. :D
For the americains it really only started after Chirac respected the opinion of 80% of the french population and refused to support Bush's quest for oil and power. From that moment on the Americains were spoonfeed hours upon hours of antifrench propaganda. I am still fairly convinced that the average americain couldn't find it on a map of north west europe with out it being drawn in blue white and red. :D
Of course having a twit like Chirac as president doesn't help either.
