You must spread your AntiPoints around before giving it to RoadClosed again.
That is one of the bests post I have read for a while. You should consider a tutorial at some stage if you have the time!
I especially like the edit - MS do produce things for free every now and again!

I don't see the point in rehashing this arguement over and over again. "WINDOWS IS BETTER MAN!" "NO WAY! LINUX RULES THE EARTH!" "WHATEVER, WE ALL KNOW BSD OWNS THE UNIVERSE!". Who cares what Microsoft runs on their systems anyways? Besides, take a gander at this:

Sure, it's only a $0.2 billion difference, but it still has Windows in the lead.
Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Windows is better, or Linux is better, or UNIX is better, or *insert OS here* is better. I use Linux on my servers, and I've used Windows on my servers. They both do the job, and they're both can secure. In the end, what does it matter who runs what? My advice: Use whatever the hell you want to use, who cares what the fool beside you says.

PS. Sorry I've I'm a little ticked off... Canada lost to Russia 2-0... damn.

This wasn't supposed to be a what's better thread. It was turned into one.
Oh and by the way:
Germany took 1st place the other night ;)

OK looked up WSUS. YAST can do that if you wanted it too..... Now I can't even think of who asked me to check for them, but yes YAST can do this for you. You'd have to set it up but it would probably take less time.

"Windows Server Update Services server: The server component that is installed on a computer running a Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 4 (SP4) or Windows Server 2003 operating system inside the corporate firewall. Windows Server Update Services server provides the features that administrators need to manage and distribute updates through a Web-based tool, which can be accessed from Internet Explorer on any Windows computer in the corporate network. In addition, a Windows Server Update Services server can be the update source for other Windows Server Update Services servers."
Ahh, that's why it's free, you have to use Windows Server OSs.... Lol wow. Couldn't they make it run on XP alone? you have to buy Windows Server for it to work.....
-
Lol, Gore, it is a network admin tool - you are going to need a server OS to use it to its full potential. You would struggle to find a half decent network that soley runs XP.
-
So Every OS has it's use except none server versions???? ;)
YAST however does work on any Linux and even... Well you could recompile it for BSD, but it's GPLd now so you can use it on anything you want.
-
gore you know me and SuSE are tight. Got 15 SuSE servers. Yast can't touch it dude.

*Pouty face*
How come YOU get to play with those ....
