Global Ban on Human Cloning

My opinon,
1. we are free thinkers, that's what makes us unique.
2. cloning will be used only by the elete, therefore, for their purpose.
3. This may sound radical, but Hitler had the same idea. And, it was for his purpose.
3. I believe God created man in his own image. Therefore, would this be a souless person?
4. All cloning attempts to date have had major problems.
5. If this is allowed, what will we allow next. They say, what you want the next generation to accept, begin teaching this generation.
6. What exactly is the purpose of cloning?..I mean the real purpose?
7. Cloning and using DNA cloining are two different things. If...and I say if, you mean to rid the birth problems brought about by diseases and such....then you talking about the right use of technology.
8. Who would be selected for cloning? Who would be the judge that "John and Mary" are good candidates...and that others are not. Do you think so and so with a history of such and such would be allowed to clone?? Its obvious that eventually they would work up to "perfect" people are cloned.
9. With that in mind, are we attempting to excalate an evolution process? Rid the earth of the finite..the sickly, the weak...etc. etc. :eek: Is that not what makes the world go around?
I mean, if there is no weak, who then is strong? If there is no one hungry, who will feed..and so on...

- This should be number 4.. and yeah He did. I'm not sure if it would make them souless or not but we can debate that later..

- Who knows.. perhaps 'they' will start implanting tracking devices that can find you with pin point accurace thousands of miles away with a device about the size of a dime.. Hehe start teaching cause there's alot we don't know about this ****..

- Whom ever 'they' wanted to clone. We won't know cause 'they' aren't going to tell us. They world isn't "perfect" and it's gonna be a while before it is.

This isn't going to excalate the evolution process.. Any further advancement is gonna be like cyborgs and holograms.

The fact that you term them as 'breeding' is what alot of these people in this thread are talking about. Your sought of refering to them as sub-human.

i think eating scarlet is basically deciding that a male clone and a female clone breeding would cause birth defects. this is idiculous because it would be a human being just as much anyone else and could breed with whoever.... it would be a genetic match to it's original and if the originals could procreate, so could the clones. Just a misunderstanding of how it all works...

i wouldn't mind cloning britney spears and doing her... lol ;)

I may be nit-picking here, but cloning a person in no way means that the duplicate would live life, have the same beliefs, or act the same way that the original does/has/would. The body is just a shell that holds the mind...a good 75% of our 'being' is determined on a unique basis due to surroundings, education, upbringing, etc. Just ask a twin. Although similar in appearance and certain aspects of behavior, they are in no way 'psychological clones', if I may coin a term. Although, in the truest sense of the word, they are clones of each other, due to the biological process of their gestation and birth.
The only way I could see that fear as being a real factor in it is because of society's preconceptions of how that 'clone' should act. (Forinstance, a clone of Elvis would be handed a guitar at age 3 by the scientists and told to start practicing.) See what I'm saying?
