If you'd be kind enough to share some of these facts, I'd be happy to give the other side, neel. ;)

Is this a compleate list? if so then it shows my point about the abouse of faith based initive, there are now religious groups getting funding that are not christian...that is a very bad thing.Quote:

I see several I recognize and admire in addition to a few who are definitely churches of some sort.
Of course I'll post some... it would be a rather useless argument
"yeah some guy wrote it in some book and it were facts" << lol
I'll try to steal it from my friend tomorrow
Lol that goes both ways. I doubt anyone on the left would read any of the many anti-Clinton books or anything by Rush or Hannity or Fox news or O-Reilly etc. :)Quote:
I doubt Bush-supporters will read anywhere beyond the first 3 words.
But speaking for one Bush supporter, I'll read it.
Thats because they are all liars and distort the facts to prove their point. Read this book:Quote:

Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right by Al Frankin
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=books
It will prove my point with actual facts that are documented.
Why is he a jerk? Most of the stuff quoted by him is misquoted by the right wing media and the rushheads.Quote:
Yeah, Al Frankin's a jerk. His new book is called Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right, but it is definitely not fair and balenced. Take a look at these two NPR interviews, one with Frankin and one with Bill O'Reilly. Not only is Frankin an *******, but he is an ******* that only participates in interviews where he knows the questions will be easy for him. Compare and contrast!
Why do people always miss the question at hand?
The question that should always be asked when discussing any current administration.
Are you better off now than you were 3 years ago?
Everything else is too full of spin and speculation, too full of altered dynamics. Consequently questions about sticking to promises or what government had who when and who did or did not die in what bombing are all moot.
People like to argue how quality of life goes beyond the administration, but isn't it funny who consistant themes follow like administrations?
All I know is that in the last three years:
There has been a huge collapse in the tech sector and in fact the entire economy.
I have fewer civil liberties.
I have known brethren to die, but I still can't get a clear story why.
I'm told by the state department that there is a whole new collection of nations I oughtn't visit because people might kidnap me on account of my being an american.
I have seen a dramatic reduction in civil services coupled with a rise in local government debt to pay for new security.
Questions about Halliburton and unsolicited contracts from undisclosed amounts really lower the faith I have in my government and it was already low to begin with.
Obviously others of you will have different priorities and be in different stations of you life, so these evaluations will be different. Maybe you care about the environment or nation debt or public education or preservation of a valid election process. Maybe nation building makes you feel good, or maybe you feel more secure now thanks to the department of homeland security and operation tips and the usa patriot act part 1 and 2, maybe you feel that issues like money and war take a backseat to questions on abortion and god. It really doesn't matter.
Are you better off now than you were three years ago?
catch
Sure, Frankin is much more honest than all of those put together. He has never "distorted the truth" to prove his point. If you believe that, you might want to have your head checked. Everyone has a bias, and if you automatically trust what they say without checking the source than you are a fool. As for Frankin, he is a complete jerk. Look at the title of his book, you know right from that it is meant as 368 pages of pure unadaulterated libel against conservatives. And it is, full of personal attacks from a moron.
catch:
Clinton and his administration left this country open to attack from terrorists, he disregarded national security time and time again, when he refused to get binladen form Sudan, when he vetoed laws restricting the actions of illegal immigrants (ones that, is ratified could have prevented hijacker mohammed atta from participating in the 9/11 attacks), and numerous other times. We are way better of without a lying, cheating, hipocrite like Clinton in office, so that such mistakes are never made again.
Don't you have this backwards there big boy?Quote:
Then how can you support a administration that has expanded the goverment, striped you of your privacy and freedom, and attempted to insert goverment controlled religion into schools and nonprofit organizations?
Bush has taken measures to protect you, not strip you of your rights.
Also, no one is putting religion back in schools, or have you forgotten the ACLU has already stolen that from the American people. If the ACLU is altruistic, then I am an alien from mars and I'm here to do science experiments on your children! Give me a ****in break!
No I have it right...patriot act, has that made us any safer...no but it has striped our rights away.humm he has made the goverment bigger, increasd spying on citizans, tried to force his religious beleifs on the rest of the nation.......see I place actions higher then words when I judge somebody, his actions disgust me. Oh as for the religion in public schools, why do you want the goverment decideing what religion your children practice?Quote:

I heard all Franken’s interview on NPR about a month or so ago. You realize he has stated that book is political satire. Now I have stated I like Al, but I wouldn't take his books or his methods as gospel. He's even apologized on record for lying and deceiving to trick people into giving up information. I find it Ironic that his title is "Lies and the liars who tell them."Quote:

I live near a huge military base. I think they are up to 11 or 12 dead. I barely knew 2 of those people and last year was having a beer with one at a party. He died escorting little Iraq girls to school through a turbulent neighborhood. I don't know the other one he was with that day, but they were sniped. Am I pissed of at Bush, no at the coward who killed two men in defense of their continued ability to compose methods of mass murder?
Maybe it was her neighbors, maybe it was a terrorist. But the bottom line is, he died escorting children. The other one I knew drowned in a tank when it fell into a river; I think that one made the media a few months ago. My company is sold out of safety deposit boxes because they come in and open them and put all their most treasured items in before going. I hear what is going on over there all the time. It's all around me. I also have great friend in high places that communicate once in a while. I support the war. I support bush.
I think sometimes people go over the top in conspiracy and hatred for opposing viewpoints and make it their own jihad to absolve any good that could come about by ideology or action. They hold tightly onto their own bible, there own box of thought.
