Breaking news: Saddam is captured

The Iraqis will try him and they will execute him. Some say as early as the fall of next year. I know a few that have petitioned to bring suit against him and witness. There are thousands signing up. I am beginning to see a problem with a fair trial, the charges aren't 1 or 2 they are 10s of thousands. The Iraqi people will not give him up because they don't have faith in the UN or World Court. They will however conduct a trial that will pass international scrutiny. It's really hard to defend mass graves no matter how you look at it. Saddam's executioners have already been caught and told their story of what their jobs entailed. They will bring Milosevic as an example of why they cannot let someone else take care of their own justice. These are only educated guesses though.

CXGJarrod you make a good point I think a lot of young people don't realize; Although I don't agree on the liberal scumbag opinion. Today, their tactics would have met the same resistance by today's standards of a liberal or democratic stance. But then again just because they carry the label "Democrat" then the exact same decisions would very likely be supported. Perhaps modern politics is more about association, than making the better choices. I wonder though, if one was a republican with the same point of view as today, would they have waited to enter WWII, and then would they have eliminated Stalin while he and the U.S.S.R were weakened by Hitler's onslaught.

I dont think they were liberal scumbags eithier, but from what I have heard the mormon say, he probably thinks they are scumbags for being democrats. I think that modern politics does get hindered by the whole democrat VS republican thing. If it was GWB in WW2, Europe would probably be a big hole right now. (From nukes or bombing) Its an interesting thought...

As much as I dislike the guy, I still think he deserves a fair trial. I think that maybe part of the panel should be a world panel (people from serveral nations excluding the USA), but I also think that it is the Iraqi peoples decision to make. I dont think that he will recieve a fair trial because of all the sh!te he will be on trial for, but that happens in a lot of cases.

And therein lies the absolute proof that this administration is, in fact, being straightforward and honest about this.

This administration, over the nine months since the defeat of Iraq, have shown quite clearly the human rights violations...... No-one can argue that.... not even the most rabid anti-Bush moron, (and I'm not speaking to those thoughtful "dissenters" there. Just the blind and the stupid, of which this world, unfortunately, breeds too many).

But the administration has yet to "point a finger" and say "Look, look.... There they are!!!... Right there....See, they had them....."

Would it be because it would not be a tenable position to lie? Or that the lie would be flawed because it would be too difficult to maintain the "secret".....

Or would it be, simply, that they aren't going to lie about this subject? They _actually_ are trying to do the right thing? Wow, what a concept.....

It would be so easy to "plant" some "evidence" and "mis-interpret" some documents..... But they don't..... They made a decision, based on intelligence, (regardless of it's accuracy... It's the int they were given), they followed through and then they are being "honorable" about the results......

Is that too hard of a thing to believe?

Good Point Tiger Shark, never thought of that. I was listening to a newsfeed this morning. Everyone is now very concerned that Saddam get's a fair trial??? They seem to want to push our justice standards on the Iraqi people. This confused me since I had the impression that we were wrong to go into Iraq and force Democracy on them. Now they seek to deny the people of Iraq their own capability to deal with someone who denied them their own freedom. That stance is selfish and based in political motivation without common sense. I am speaking to the media on this one not anyone here.

Methinks that, while they didn't want a hand in baking the "pie" now it's baked they have this urgent need to stick their fingers in..... Like they do with everything else.....
