You are partially correct x acid ... We were taught in sniper school (please remember that I went through about 20 years ago... to leve as small a "foot print" as possible to avoid detection... That meant everything from sleeping in the last place an enemy would look (snake and aligator infested swamps, the basement of the building they lived in, on the top of a mountian that they thought couldn't be climbed, etc) to carrying

The most famous pair I can think of is Henry Lee Lucas and Otts Toole... They were both killers in their own right... John Walsh thinks it was Otts Toole that killed his son Adam and Henry Lee Lucas cleared 200+ murders when they caught his butt... (I think it was called, "into the mind of a Serial Killer" on Discovery... Great channel)
