Meanwhile, most liberals I talk to can't give a solid reason why they back Kerry (the answer is "Derrrr...I hate Bush!")
Now fortunately, most of the people around here aren't counted among that number, but truth be told, 80% of the population of the world are idiots. :D There are large numbers on BOTH sides that have no clue why they've really voted for who they did. The stupid Republicans are as stupid as the stupid Democrats, I fear.
But again, you have to start looking beyond partisan lines in order to realize that...
On a side note, as the person who's been greened here a bit, I feel responsible to say that we must remember that we are not supposed to be assigning APs in Cosmos. Let's try not to make Neg pull out all his own hair, shall we?

Well I can certainly relate to that, it is pretty much the same in the UK. There are three significant mainstream political parties all of whom have a core of voters who will either vote for them or not vote at all. They are what you might call party animals; they know nothing about their party's policies because they don't need to..........they always vote for that party come hell or high water.
The balance of power is held by what we call "floating voters". These are the people who change sides from election to election and might at least be expected to have found out "what is in it for them".
Also amongst the floating voters are those who vote for change for change's sake, irrespective of whether the party in power is doing a good job or not. They have no interest in policies either :(
Unfortunately in politics there is no such thing as fact or reality, just peoples' perceptions and misconceptions.

I asked the same questions to a few other Kerry voters and they all said almost the same.
Unfortunately a lot of the votes that Kerry got are from people like that....people who did not think it through and people who do not have a real Idea about what they're voting for.
Unfortunately for Bush, a lot of the people who voted for Kerry, really hated Bush...which is really not something you want from your people....but do those people even know why they hate him? I can understand where the mother's who lost their child in the Iraq war are coming from....but a lot of people don't even know why...
