QBasic is easy, somewhat powerful if you know what you're doing, and incredibly inelegant. QBasic can accomplish just about anything given 10-15 million lines of code.
EDIT: I don't have any links, I have no use for QBasic (I run Linux).

I don't think it would be a good idea to start out with c/c++ because I've been told it's a hard language.
