Interesting idea, I was the hp-ux tech ith xpurt.com that was that was the australian crew who built the xpurt.com autoresolution web browser,as with all good ideas bad mangement closed the doors, Sounds to me like you need to develop a think tank and talk to an ideas man, Email [email protected].

You forget one thing! The sole factor of us humans. Unless your God, everything one makes will be exploited! People here in this forom have even said that before! And to put the security and the responsiliblity on the isp has many privacy factors<the death of porno?>.Also it will make "big brother" have easier access then ever before, that they could ditch their carnivore prog! If you could bounce the ip packets off of multiple high speed proxies then speed would increase dramaticly! And as far as users not patching its because of the lack of knowledge that is being spread around. To turn on the computer basicly sums up the basic users knowledge base!!!!!! So if you teach new users then the problem can be helped and the only thing to worry about is new exploits and laziness!

You are one heck of an idiot if you can't figure out why he won't post the plan on here. He SPECIFICALLY SAID he would HAVE to have someone sign an NDA to see the plans. He can't get every single user on AO to sign an NDA, so hence he won't post it here till AFTER it's been released.
Hmm I don't know if this has been suggested or if you [gbrowne40] have done it already, but a good idea would be to throw an eye out to SourceForge.net. There are hundreds of coders out there that might want to help and you should be able to find out somebody in your area that you could meet and discuss the details [after the NDA of course].
The one problem you might have is that your software should be under the GPL or other open source licences. I can understand why the NDA know, however I'm not sure how you feel that your software should be handled after it's complete. I do want to remind that open source does not mean free software, although I'm sure most people would know that by now.
OpenSource (especialy BSD like licences) will effectively stop your idea from falling into the wrong hands (other people making money) while allovwing the open source community to use it..
You could at any point "void" the licence, since you issued it.. And go for "closed source"..
The GPL on the other hand doesn't allow for such changes.. ..
I really hope that you have put a lot of thought and looking over what you wrote down on paper regarding your ideas. When it happens, just like the people behind TCP/IP, you won't be able to control it, and you have to depend on other people to use it right and as intended.
You have sort of certified yourself as being able to think like the virus, and being able to take MODEM technology and scale it within FCC limits to improve performance. Your speculation into a way to bypass the network scanning method helps to certify you have developed a thought process -- but Terr already alluded to this solution by saying *known* viruses. You cut a corner and developed a *smart* virus that isn't *known*. If the system was *perfect*, meaning it knew *all* viruses, could you still do something malicious? Yes. Would there be viruses? Nope. I have a vague feeling your thought process may be too ridgid and set to deal with some obsacles you could encounter when it comes time for implementation.
A solution to *all* problems is more than focusing on one thing. I don't think a small group of people would be able to tackle all of the problems a whole ton of other people could come up with. But I encourage you to work and report your findings if it doesn't work out.
I will say right now, I will not be joining up in the forseeable future (assuming you are in this for financial gain). I seriously doubt I can sign a NDA because I'm just under 18 years of age, and I wouldn't be able to help you in programming in anything other than in a conceptual sense of being part of a think-tank to break your ideas. You have raised an eyebrow of mine, but this is not a project I am interested in taking on or participating in, in its current state and projected future. Your idea sounds to me like Microsoft's Trusted Computing (Networking) Initiave where they design their own trusted network (read: propitary), and alas, they just so happen to redefine the server/client relationship to prevent the spread of viruses...err..."untrusted content". Of course, being Microsoft, I'd expect it to be as secure as NETBIOS...or at least as cryptic and meaningless as it is.
But for now, I am acturally more interested in hearing what you did to your MODEM. Hardware hacking is something that really grabs my attention (to an extent). Would you like to explain somewhere (even PM) what you did to the MODEM? If you don't want to, or are guarding the information, it doesn't bother me that much. I'm just sort of curious.

I don't know to what extent you are correct, But i feel that any idea should be researched extensively, so for that you can take your idea to the companies whom you feel can work along with you, These things that you are talking about are not going to be developed in a single day .... It's great that u came up with some idea, but if you share it with the right people then probably even they can add things to it.
