am i on the right way?

hey ppl, i want to ask u something what i think that hacking is..
first i need to have a box to scan for machines (with synscan), then when i scan, and find machines, i pick one, and scan it with nmap for open ports. Then i find exploit for that.. and then get the password of root. When i log into the root, i setup a rootkit.. and make proccesses. I know everything here, except 'finding exploit and exploiting the machine and finding the passwd file'.

Tell me am i on the right way... If that's so... tell me how to 'find exploit and exploit the machine and find the passwd file'.

And just incase this ain't a joke then mate your on the complete wrong track - once u have scanned for an exploit then email here - telling them what ip's u have scanned, what ur ip is, ur home address, full name, home phone number, D.O.B and any previous criminal records and they'll see to it you get the help u need with your exploit ;)

You need a script to automate
the whole process, so your
machine will do the hacking
while you are out getting a life!

You know, lately I am getting worried. More and more lamers and people who aren't secuirty-interested. So we are getting full of lameposts about cracking hotmail and people just babbling. Don't get me wrong I like posts like "star wars pardoy" but this doesn't seem like the place. When I first got here it was bursting with security information. It is sorta degrading now.
