Websites are Blocked how to bypass.

Our office administrator has blocked all sites that contains materials that can be suspected as trojans, hacking, cracking, etc. The problem is I can't accessed some sites like cracking sites, (eg) www.astalavista.com, www.cyberarmy.com, www.astalavista.box.sk, www.crackz.ws are there any other way to bypass it. He uses 3COM firewall to blocked the sites. Another problem is he just installed a webcache on the internet server, any sites that has been accessed by all users that is connected to that server is recorded especially the IP add, then he can immediately tracked down the users accessing illegal sites like hacking , craking, pornographic sites, and have authority to disable the connections. How can I handle this problem. Any advice, suggestion, help will be appreciated.. Thanks

I suggest you read this sites FAQ and the link i posted above. This is not what AO is here for. What you want to do is against your administrators policy. Let this thread not become one like the link i posted above.

firstly I want to tell you one thing, that is, the administrator had disabled those sites specifically which clearly means that, he donot want users of his network to go to those sites. Either, that restriction is given in the policies of the admin given to him, so he is trying to make things that way, so donot mistake him. Also as a part of that network, you should not try to act against their policies, if you llike to go to those websites , then I feel it would be better to browse that sites from some other network, either from home or net cafes etc.
Dopnot mistake me thinking myself to be talking in the side of admin, I want to say you those are not legal, and doing things against the policies of admin, may one day lead to disconnection or you know what I mean.
then coming to the bypassing of the firewall, ofocurse it is not good, if you want to try, then first tery to make things to check your IP cleared off from the logs, I mean, try to find way to check you out of the logs and then bypassing will not be a matter.

Then if you are sppecific about to browse that type of info and to download things like trojans, etc, (ofcourse for educational purpose only), and various security related information, also, then come to our website http://www.securitywonks.org which will be launched a few days later. The posts by instronics and raghuveer both highlight important points. If you need to get something from those sites you listed (astlavista, etc.) why not talk with the admin and explain why you need those tools -- I am assuming you are interested in them for a legal reason, i.e., to test the network. If you are determined to use those tools and he won't give access, build a network at home to play with. That's what a lot of members do -- myself included.

As for the "pr0n", I'm sure there are far more important things you could be doing at work than looking at nekkid body parts. ;)

Lastly, in regards to the web cache. Your company should have a security policy and part of that security policy will probably be an acceptable use policy (AUP) of what you are allowed to do and what you're not allowed to do. You might want to review it.

see the above post by Ms Mittens, what I want to tell in part is told by her more clearly.
donot violate the policy or you will be in trouble as you had crossed their legal agreement, also there are numerous chances for them to remove your account. do things on your own system or on some of your system too(remember with their permission only) and browse from home that's always better.
Hy I am telling you my personal experience, that is even when I tried to upload many times ythe material of our site to the server, from some net cafes, they feel that I am ding something wrong and taking everything in a bad manner, and I donot blame them for that, because, I very well know, it is due to their ignorance, so I started back from my home and started working and browsing net or if any uploading security relsate materials, etc from my home, even testing of trojans how they work and trying to remove them manually, everything Istarted doing on my system only, ofcourse, worse happens, and I will have to format my system and reinstalled the OS many times like that.

I think you understand what I mean and what I want to convey.

I would also presume you wish to get to these sites for security reasons. Our own company allows a person to e-mail the proxymaster if there is a site that is currently blocked and you need access to it. If that is agreeable then bada-bing, you're in. Keep it on the legal side. I have seen people walked out of our own company for doing otherwise. People get kinda hinky about that type of thing.

experiment, my old school network would block www.example.com but not the ip address of it, so they was only blocking the DNS, try simple stuff like that, most admins are pretty dumb.

also why not make yourself a little script which reads from websites? so e.g. a php script will do, which reads a website and then displays it, all of course is running from the php script so it won`t be blocked, obviously the php script will have to be at an external webserver to the network.

alot of these sites are filtered through the router(s) and/or proxy servers within the network so alot of techniques may fail, the php script would work though.

and i believe there is a way to bypass these proxy servers where most traffic is monitored by editing the registry, but i`m not completely sure where to go and unless you know what you're doing i wouldn`t suggest poking around there.

so as i say make a script (if u can, it`ll be very simple) which will read the source of the webpage, the most basic script will have broken images but u can fix this by making the script think it's at www.example.com.

You could try to use google´s cache to view the pages..
www.google.com ;)

Thanks dude, Its a good idea to talk to my administrator. I've already talk to him about this situation on blocking some sites which he restricted it to be accessed. He told me that its in the policy of the company to restrict sites which contents materials, tools, and any threat that can make the company vulnerable of such attack, in anyform of disastrous act. And I agree on that... so I have nothing to do but to respect him as an administrator. Its really bad anyway..

Try using a another proxy to make your web requests. However, if you don't want to violate your company's policy, you probably don't want to mess around on those computers.
