After a brief review of a few threads and a pole. I decided to create a pole to get down to the facts, In the attempt to weed out who is not registered to vote in the 2004 US Presidential Election.
The other poll should be designated for fictional or pretend voting purposes. ;)
I'm not registered... they won't let me :)

I been registered to vote since i was 18, i haven't voted for the last three years
I vote in every election. In person, or absentee when traveling on business. Voting is a privelege and a duty, which I am glad to fullfill.
Sorry, i'm from Europe and don't understand... Why you have to register? If you are citizens and over 18 years old you are allowed to vote, aren`t you?
You also have to be a legal resident, and not have been convicted on felony charges at the Federal level. Registration allows verification of the above, hopefully. Also, voter registration is tied into jury duty listings. What a choice eh?Quote:

What about the third option... I am registered to vote, but I have not recieved a voter ID card.
You have to register because you can live in any of the 50 states. Votes are balanced via state by many different mechanisms. You also have to prove "where" you live for local election purposes that affect your city or county or school district. It's very complicated. But it's like 50 different countries united via a Federal government. The United States. Hope that helps.Quote:

For instance it would not be fair for a person living in New York, to drive out to California and vote for a governer of senate member in california. So if one moves from New York to California they would have to "register" in California and vote at a specific place and time. Otherwise it would be hard to manage 229,000,000 voters in their respective states and districs.
