I need some help can anyone tell me where I can download PC Anywhere for Windows XP for free.

I'm guessing you are referring to the popular remote access software Sold by Symantec?Unfortunately, Symantec is no longer providing a free 30 day trial of the software.Instead, you must pay 20$ dollars for a 30 day evaluation.

If you are intending to pirate this program, I suggest you find another forum, as this one seems to deal only in ethical computing.Also, downloading pirated software is an incredibly efficient way to infect your computer with malware.

PCAnywhere is not a free program. Symantec produces it and the Home Edition is $200.00 if you buy it directly from them.

for a free remote access solution, try www.realvnc.com

If it doesn't have to be PC-anywhere...You can also use TightVNC , it's a free alternative to PC-anywhere (well kind off) and can be used to remote control a PC or something like that...LINK

But also... If you are running windows XP Proffesional you could use the included Remote Desktop Protocol ... used for taking over servers etc. ... but it can also be used to take over a remote pc or it can be configured so you can remote control your pc from your working place.

a quick note for security.

change the port you are using remote desktop programs with. Personnaly 3389 (default RDP) and 5900 (VNC) are 2 of the primary ports I scan when looking for machines on a network. Purley for legit reasons of course. and as always, use strong passwords.

for RDP you may also want to consider setting up an account with non admin privledges for remote use if you dont need to actually admin the machine, and then dont alow remote access to the admin accounts.
