No video on monitor

Last night my Fiancee and I installed a new cooling system for the desktop. It's a Zalaman CNPS CPU cooler 7000B Cu.

Anywy we took the computer apart, took off the old heatsink and fan, and installed the new cooler, and then put the mmchine back together.

When we had everything hooked in and we boote up, the monitor didn't come on. The monitor is on, it's on standby waiting with te little yllow LED light, and when the machine boots up, it doesn't turn green or come on....

At first we though maybe something wasn't done right. So we checked everything again, made sure the HDs and the other components were all plugged in properly, and tried again.

Same thing, no monitor.

So then we thought maybe the video card whic is only a few months old went, which of course COULD explain the no video thing even though the machine turns on and powers up.

Tried another card, same thing.

I'm seriousy stuck, I hate messing with hardware, and we have checked everything, but the only thing we can think of is maybe the MOBO needs replaced. Anyone have any ideas?

Someone said to re-seat the RAM so I did that. I popped the case back off, Pulle out both RAM sticks, and put them back in, made sure they clicked, and tried again but it still shows a blank screen.

The monitor itself by the way is an Acer AL1916, and when you turn the monitor itself on, it shows the acer logo, which is odd to me, I dont have any monitors that ever showed a logo by itself, but it does none the less.

Does it beep at all?
Did you use a anti-static wrist strap?
You can also try reseating other things like your cpu.
You can try "benching" the MB by taking it out of the case and only connecting the cpu,vid,mem, and psu. If it still does not post you can use components from other systems.

take out the new parts that you just put in and put the original stuff back in and see if that solves the prob.

i'm thinkin that the psu don't have enough power to power everything plus the new fan etc.

From the sound of the MB was damaged. If the box is still booting up and just doesn't have vid, you could try a PCI video card, if you can get your hands on one. If that works then you know it has something to do with your AGP Slot.

Did you remove the floppy flatcable? If you connect this one back the wrong way around (pin 1 on the wrong side). Does the floppy drive led burn constantly? If it's connected the wrong way around you get this same behaviour.

My money is on bad memory, at least this exact same thing has happened to me in the past and replacement of the memory resolved it. Not to say there couldn't be a multitude of other things to cause it.

I highly doubt its the memory. I've been working at a computer repair store since I was 15 and I have never seen a computer with those symptoms only have bad memory. I think it is either MBD or PSU or CPU.

Then apparently you haven't seen enough

bad memory is going to throw beep codes.

Unplug everything...hardrives etc

Just boot with keyboard, mouse video

That should narrow it down..........

You should at least get into the Bios...if not its board or memory damage

Then add hardware piece by piece

Power could be the issue as stated previously
