Okay I was trying to clean up my computer a lil bit, get things more organized etc... when I came across Internet Explorer, now I never use this browser anymore but, unlike XP I can not find a option to uninstall this program!
Does anyone know how to safely uninstall/get rid of Internet Explorer?
Try %windir%\ie7\spuninst\spuninst.exe it worked in xp, worth a shot
already tried that... didn't work. any other suggestions?

This fangtastic utility allows one to customize a Vista install before installation and I believe it does have an option to remove IE7.
This may not be the ideal solution though because it does require a full reinstall which lack's the funkness indeed.
That is a good option, but not for me. I really don't want to reinstall vista, if I went through that trouble I would put a different OS for sure! any others?
I don't know how to uninstall it; I don't know why you would want to, either, especially if your goal is to "clean up" your computer and "get things more organized." How is removing IE (or, as I should say, "Windows Internet Explorer") going to help?
Anyways: I use IE (WIE?) 7, and Firefox will have to do something really impressive before I switch over (again).
personal preference and I have two web browsers! getting rid of the one that don't like would do both "clean up" and "organize"

No, we don't.
IE is too deeply integrated with, and embedded in, the Windows operating system to make its removal a safe course of action.
Actually, I like the idea of more than one browser on the grounds that it enhances and extends one's troubleshooting options.

:confused: thanks? I guess... I am trying to learn, and when you don't know an answer you throw negativity at me? I am lost, IE is just a web browser for the windows operating system! I had no idea that it was integrated deeply into vista, if I did I wouldn't have even said anything. Makes Microsoft sort of have a Monopoly again...

Heres a question for you then, if it wasn't integrated into the OS, how would you have gotten Firefox installed on your box? You need some sort of browser installed to get another one off the net, so thank them for it, and just ignore it if you dont want to use it after you have an alternate installed.
