It is an article about gadgets. The one I particularly like is the keyboard and mouse you can put in your dishwasher :D

And they are actually not that expensive in comparison to other keyboards. And as silly as it may sound to you, I can see a practical need for it: medical facilities where computer is stored in a surgery area; burn patients to have a keyboard to use; classrooms (do you know how much coffee, red bull and other stuff is spilled daily?!).
I agree entirely MsM, which is why I put it in hardware rather than humour. If it is waterproof it will be dust and crap proof as well?
I can see applications in garages, engineering machine shops, construction sites and all sorts of places which have a "hostile environment"
:)
Public keyboards are gross. They should make a keyboard with a built in hand sanitizer pump. I work at a school, and have seen tons of kids coughing and sneezing on keyboards... I try to do as much as I can remotely from my system. :D
You guys are giving me a complex now - freak me out :)
I don't even think you can get them in SA ...
one thing i dont get is the interface...is it wireless, usb or ps/2? cos if its usb the water can spoil the plug(reminds me of a chinese-made rubber keyboard thats in the market here now...)
gold usb.
reasonably priced $33 US

Looks good to me, especially at that price.
If you follow the link that CSR kindly posted, you will see that there is a little lanyard attached to the USB plug. I think that you will find that it has a rubber cap attached to it to seal the USB plug. I have some rubberised Maxell USB stick drives that have that feature.
I am jealous, all we have been sent here is blow-up rubber sheep :lildevil:Quote:

Anyhow back onto topic. :D
I do wonder just how durable they would be, i mean wouldn't the wiring etc get damaged eventually from all the wear 'n tear that it would get submitted to.
I wonder if left in a car on a really really hot day if it would work afterwards.?
i told a colleague of mine who owns a factory about these and he ordered a couple to see how well they hold up. so we will see.
