Here we go again! LOL.....idiot
Would you like Windows to save this password in your password list?
Does that sound familiar, young lady?
Don't use auto complete, clear your cache, don't use ME.
I think maybe you have the wrong idea. This person did not claim to be elite or anything of the kind, which in my opinion is the time to flame someone. please dont call someone you dont know an idiot. A simple awnser gets a rude reply. Very nice :(.Quote:

snakesss:
turn off your password caching in your internet explorer options under the content tab > autocomplete. from there you can clear all usernames/passwords cached.
hey guys.. you need to study the damned manual!
THE MANUAL!
i tell ya...
btw snakess you single?
<G> Muahahaha :umph:
Try running find from your start menu, look for *.pwl files. They contain any saved passwords windows has.
cheers
It's a good idea to disable the sytem restore feature when using Windoze ME, too.......
You can do this by right clicking my computer/properties/performance/file system then checking the box "disable system restore"
to be safe you should also wipe your cookies seeing as MS tends to leave a million of those around.
and instead of just deleting all of your cookies, you can corrupt the cookies so you don't get new ones of the cookies you just deleted.
Go into the targeted cookie with notepad, and delete some of the stuff there, then save it. After that, go into the properties of the cookie and make it a read only file, so it can't be over written
it takes a while if you do this to alot of cookies, though
also...
**** you bad news, it was his first post, great job boosting his confidence,
snakesss, don't worry about him
Bad N3wz...
I haven't been on antionline for very long, but when I see you posting something, its pretty much full of your egotistical crapping on...
Oh, you asked a perfectly legitimate question..
I know how to help, but I'll think I'll make myself feel big and cool... ph3ar me, I'm Bad N3wz....
you sir/madam, are the epitome of a tool.....
can those saved passwords be hacked/stolen? bc i use autocomplete all the time, so i'm a lil curious if there's a problem with that?
Yes, they can be stolen...
Some trojans have features to grab the passwords, I think Back Orifice can.... Don't know about Sub7, I've never looked at it....
simple fact: if its stored or saved on your HDD, it can be stolen; just grab any trogan with a file browse feature
Best obi,
The *.pwl files are NOT of hotmail or anything else concerning the internet. These are just the passwd files of the local user accounts. And one doesn't need them to do anything. When one logs on locally on a win98 ( by example) machine, he can press Esc at the logon dialog. then just open explorer, goto %systemroot% and rename admin.pwl to admin.zzz, logoff and logon as administrator with a clear passwd. It's not security, it's just done to give ppl the impression it is.
Grtz,
Ahhh Microsoft...
Security through Obscurity...
If you want to clear out the password cache and user names, open your IE, go to TOOLS, INTERNET OPTIONS, then click the tab CONTENT. You'll see under personal information a tab called AUTOCOMPLETE. SImply uncheck the 'User names and passwords on forms' then click the button below to clear passwords. It might not be a bad idea to also clear out the Tempaorary Internet Folder of the cached files and cookies. Hope this helps.
Awwww.. I think I hurt Bad_N3wz feelings... :D
Earnt me some negative antipoints for posting on this thread......
Oh well, mebe calling bad_n3wz a tool was a out of place... tools are usefull.......
oh, and Bad_N3wz, I am assuming its you who gave me the points, coz your one I addressed....
I don't live anywhere near mount druit.... if I lived any further away, I would be living in the ocean...
Never ever use autocomplete. I personally like using the same password on a lot of things on the internet that I am not afraid of getting messed with through. That way I never have to remember about 60 different passwords and there is no use for autocomplete. Of course mix it up because with just one password everyone will be able to get into everything that is yours.
