Blank Pages
Is anyone else getting this? This is happening frequently. Server is (seemingly) randomly returning the following, on the main page, and on several forum pages, in lieu of the actual content:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

Sometimes when I try opening a thread or goto main page it does that. I just keep refreshing the screen until they finally pop up
-
Yeah, happened to me to, about half an hour ago ... reloaded a couple of times, works perfectly now...
I think JP tripped over the wrong cable or something.
-
Hasn't happend to me
It hasn't happened to me boy.
But, just refresh a couple of times and you got it.
-
You click refresh three times, shut your eyes, keep your fingers crossed in case the news re-apears on the home page, if not, you'll probably see the page you wanted to anyway.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that happened to me all day today:confused:

I often get blank pages between the hours of 3 to 5 PM ESP time. Odd...I just assume that it is peak hours, but that may not have anything to do with it. Peace.:)
-
Ahhh, the accursed blank pages.. I get them an awful lot.. in fact, I got one when I tried to view this thread..... I was just putting it down to a problem with my craptastic computer......
maybe I should stop blaming my computer for everything that goes wrong...

This has nothing to do with the thread...just wanted to see my new signature and lapse into an orgy of self-congratulation at my wit....
-
Yeppers, same here. I was a wondering myself, just an empty page? Oh well...................:)

BLACK pages.
I almost ALWAYS, EVERYDAY get black, blank pages. I click a link or thread and it comes up. Reload NEVER works. I have to go back to the location bar and type antionline.com and then when I am back I once again click on the link or thread I was trying to get to. I use both IE and Netscape. Diff version on diffrent comps. Also, when I try to give AntiPoints the pop-up just comes up and stays black. I would love to give out more AntiPoints but I cant. I assume all of this has SOMETHING to do with Java. I dont know. All other sites work fine. I have been meaning to post something about it to see if I could get any help. Well... here I am along with others. Anyone? Any ideas? I would REALLY love to give out more Antipoints. Thanks.

its getng worse..
*sniff* its getting worse... I usually got one blank screen for about every 20 or so pages viewed... so far today, I've had more blank screens than ones displaying correctly... :(
-
I have IE 5.5 and 6.0 on about Win 98SE, Win2000, WinME, ad NT 4.0. With a DSL connection on all of them, and 56K on a Win2000 at home.
-
OK JP I give, what's up with the blank, black pages???
-
Black Pages?! I'm getting white pages.... ohhh.. a new level of complexity....
-
this isn't anything to do with the topic but..... i see some of the people are using IE 6, is it any good because at the moment im running 5.5. i asked dad (my resident IT expert lol) and he said IE 6 won't let you use plugins, this true? microsoft taking their monopoly too far, like come on, gotta keep activex, java and flash, gotta make life interesting :)
-
hey...
No, IE6 allows you to use plugins...
There may be plugins that no longer function correctly due to a change in the IE code, but the companies that make the plugins would fix that as soon as it comes to their attention....
-
Yea mine are white too Matty Cross:confused:

Greetings All:
I THINK i found the problem. The timeouts with the apache webserver, and with the mysql database, were different. The mysql database timed out faster, and when it did, apache just sent along an unformatted "blank white" page. I have now made both timeout variables the same, and I think life is good now.....
