MS Paint.. :)
go to save as and save it as .jpg
oh and one neat trick...
u can also save a pic as an icon on ur pc....
Save the image as .ico and its an icon.
...As long as you have your palette and sizes set right, at any rate.
found one for ya, shmoo...
BMPtoJPG
Ouroboros
Ive tried MS Paint. It will only save a bitmap.
neerrr.. dun use da drop down bar coz u wont see anyfin but just bmp formats.. do it manually..
example.. u wanna save a pic as a jpg and its bmp..
open it wid MS Paint.. then click on save as..
in da part where u can type in what name u want it to save as.. say u wanna call it "pic001" if ur gonna type juz "pic001" it will save it as bmp.. u hafta type "pic001.jpg" and it will save it as jpeg.. u can also save it in any form.. .sys .gif .ico even .txt and u can do that with any software... ;)
but dun expect it to work as clockwork.. example.. u save a .bmp to a .exe heck dun expect it to do something.. lol it will just say its not a win32 file lol..
Sonic, I did that too. It changed it to a jpeg, yet it was still the same as a bitmap.
yeah thats coz file convertion of images make imagles loose detail...
but now that jpeg image can be transfered in the net more faster than the bmp..
and da size became smaller ;)
just like a jpeg
Use any graphics program.
Jasc Paint Shop Pro
Adobe Photoshop
Macromedia Fireworks
MS Paint (if you're on Win2k at least)
Hi Schmoo!
Good day to you! I pesonally prefer Adobe Photoshop when it comes to image: reduction, conversion, retouching, optimization...etc. In Photoshop, there are two ways to save images, one would be the usual way by using the Save as feature and selecting the file image type you wanted to be as (ex. png, tiff, jpg, gif, bmp...etc.). The second cool way of saving/converting images is through the "Save for Web" feature, where the image is save on the type of image file you want at the same time it is optimized so that it is not too heavy when used in the web. In this second option, you can reduce the file size of your image, convert it to whatever file type you want it to be and at the same time still keeping the image quality. The quality of the image is not preserved only when you have optimized it too much. If you have further queries on this we can talk it over in AO chat latr :)
A blessed day to all! Happy New Year :)Quote:

I used to have the same problem as you, but I found a program that automatically does it. You can convert between .gif, .jpg, windows .bmp, OS/2 .bmp, .tga, .pcx, .ppm, .pgm, .pbm, and .tif.
It is a jpeg editor, but that part is worthless. You can save anyone of the above files as anyone other of them. Thats waht I use it for. It is free, but it has a popup window that always bothers you when you load it. Enough of the details, I'm sure your mouth is watering. Search for "LView Pro 1.C/32" and download the free version, or download the attachment.
Thanks everyone, i got it.
