Favorite Beer?
I often drink mass quantities of beer while working on the computer. (with the exception of when I am work.) I was wondering how many of you all enjoy a nice brew with the puter. What is the brew of the l33t? I know it doesn't have anything to do with security but eh, thats what general chit chat if for right.
My favorite has to be Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or a good ol' Black and Tan (Bass Ale mixed w/ Guiness)
Peace out

tekfrost, the best beer (IMHO) defenitly is Stella Artois
Stella Artois rulez

The list does not do the beer connoisseur justice. It leaves off micro brews (i.e. Yuengling from PA, Black Butte from OR). Although Guinness is very good I think Murphy's Irish Stout is similar slightly less bitter (did a non-scientific taste test and it won). From your list I would select Guinness or Base depending on my mood.
Cheers,
-D
PS Heard a rumor from a die hard vegetarian that Bass uses animal parts in the production of their beer -not sure how.
-
Has to agree with VictorKaum on the beer Stella Artois is the great beer though i prefere spirts specificy absinth rules them.

I only like Belgian beer, Kriek Lambiek is my favourite.
But Palm and Hoegaarden can also make my day.
Guess I'm gonna have fun in Belgium this weekend lol :drink:
-
thx Focmaester, when some1 from the Netherlands says that Belgian beer is best then you have the ultimate prove, cause normally they woudl say Heineken... ;)
-
There is only one real beer for me Grolsch...
No other beer for me...
but I voted guiness.......
just for the heck of it..
-
I like beer on an occasion or two. But, hey. I'm from the south. I have to drink my Jack and Coke. Good ole' Tennessee wiskey. Go have a look for yourselves.
http://www.jackdaniels.com/
The funny thing is though. You can't even buy it in the county they make it in. Nor most of the surrounding counties. They are dry counties. Save for two that can sell beer. You have to go about 50-75 miles up the road to get any liquer. Strange but true. This state still has "blue" laws on the books. Such as no beer or wine sales on Sundays or after midnight and so on. The county I live in you can only buy beer. The next county over is wide open though. Beer, liquer, wine, and stip clubs. Go figure. It's strange when you live in the "Bible Belt".
Just a little FYI for you.
You wanted to know some more stuff about the south Focmaester, well, this is one of the stranger things. LOL

rolling rock
southpaw
heinkens
bud light
killians
.....
-
-
mmmm..... Leinenkugel's Northwoods..........
-
What are with these Pennsylvanian beers? Yuengling's? Rolling Rock? What? These are decent beers, if you are on a budget, as I am, Miller Light $1 on tap 6-8 Fridays, if I want a beer in a bottle for home I buy a case of Rolling Rock, when I am at home I buy Yuenglings, cause in PA it is dirt cheep.
But if I want a good beer, I don't buy anything that comes in a bottle or can, the best beer I have ever had is from a Micro-Brewery in Gettysburg PA, that beer was GOOD. I know, you Belgians with the luxury of drinking good beer think that all american beer is piss, but if I took you there, man, you would woder what planet this guy beamed in from.
I have never tasted a beer with sooo much flavor. MMMMMM.
But off that list, I had to go Guiness, its the only thing with any taste there. Normally I am a Whiskey fan, particularly Scotch. God bless that liguid gold.
But I do have to say to indolent, HELLYA to the Leinenkugel's. For American piss water, that actually has flavor. Leinie's Red, mmm, Leinie's Honey Weiss, mmmmmm, Leinie's Berry Weis = SIN TO MAN KIND. I mean wtf were they thinking Berry Beer? frinkin terrible.
But if I ever get out of this country, and make it to a country with real beer, I might change my opinion.
Praise Beer!

In my defense. I could not list all of my favorite beer at once with this poll, alas not enough options. but ill give some run down.
Micro Brew's always rule and American Macro Brew generally suck but their cheap so I end up buying them before pay day.
Love Rollin Rock, especially when I get some drunk newbie to peel off the lable. lol
Canadian Beer is awsome, I enjoy XXXX and anything from Molsen
Killians is for those who have never had real Irish beer.
Grolsch has no flavor but the Bottle is kick ass, (I think everyone should have one)
Stella Artois is great when I'm in Nogalas
Heiniken is the worste beer, unless you mix 151 with it (strange enough it tastes good that way)
When im broke its goes down hill fast. BUD, PBP Blue Ribbon, Old Mill, Bud Light, Miller anything.
By the way to Dseipel Serria Nevada is a micro brew that is why I added it to the poll, but kudos to ya for drinkin good beer. I also love a good Murphy's Irish Stout poured with the spoon fresh from the tap.
I still think Bass Ale and Guiness made into the almighty Black and Tan is the best beer. Any bar that gives a blank look when I order one, I leave.

well i like foster's its light and ..reallly tastes great...
-
Ohh good. Something I know a lot about. How about Carlsberg 47? Or He'brew? Maybe a little La Fin Du Monde? Vrak? Or Gulpener Korenwolf? There's soooo many that are good. It's really hard to pick just 20 or so.
I've signed up with www.Realbeer.com. It's priceless.
-
I like Yuengling Laguer. Secound would be heinken.
-
Staple
Vic Bitter is my staple drink. But damn, those Germans know how to make a beer!!!!
-
I'm a big fan of Bud Ice. I don't know why, but it is one of the only beers that goes down really smoothly for me.
-
Wizeman - You are one sick individual. Maybe you're just NOT the beer drinkin' type??????? maybe?
-
KorpDeath:
I'm not really the beer drinking type, you are right. I would prefer straight shots of vodka to beer any day, but for some reason Bud Ice is just very smooth. My number two is probably Heineken, though it definitely isn't as smooth.
-
I'll tell you....both of those beers are like drinkin' water. You'd better be a vodka guy....
"You have given out too many AntiPoints today, try again later." Oh well....I'll come back to this....
-
KorpDeath:
And let's not forget the games of Beirut with Busch Light and Milwaukee's Best! :D
-
UGH!! Stop trying to hurt me......please..........can't......take....anymore.......
Man ...I'll tell you. I'm being port scanned like a M..F.. time to trace........flame on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I'm with ya KorpDeath in prefrence. It suprises me how many people claim some watered down American macro as thier favorite beer. Its all the same, hell smetimes it REALLY is the same thing (such as Busch and BUD).
Wizeman, Bud Ice can get you drunk but go into any Irish pup near you and order a pint of ANY beer not made in America. You'll be a changed man, I'm sure of it.
Peace out
-
Pilsner Beer: Stella Artois . Heineken is NOT beer... I wonder who's gonna piss in those bottles now that Mr. Heineken passed away...
And when I really wanna get pissed: Duvel .
KorpDeath: here's another link you might appreciate: Michael Jackson, Beer Hunter .
-
I completly agree with Negative...
Stella Artois rulez...
This beer has warm tradition, taste, color,....
-
Dutch Gold.
And no these guys dont have a website....;)
-
Mixing beer and vodka 1 on 1 is cool too...
just don't tel the ppl you added the vodka too..
And what a wonderfull night you'll have...
-
I have to agree with Tedob1 on his choice. Red Stripe is some kick ass brew (made in Jamacia no less). Personally I'm also a fan of Dos Equis (made by a German brewmaster who lived in Mexico) as well as Lowënbraü. For my liquor tastes I have to choose Bacardi 151 or my moms homemade Kahlua.
-
lager
if you're ever in PA or at least the northeast...
you need to have Yuengling lager. Best beer in the world dangit brewed locally!
-
I did vote Guiness since its a great beer. But I prefer to drink finnish beer like Lapin Kulta, Karjala and Koff. I simply prefer beer with lots of taste not pure water :D.

If we are to go with the Belgian beers ... my vote goes to:
Corsendonck Agnus
(sometimes sold in the US as Corsendock pale ale)
You need to adapt your beer to whatever the occasion is ... Guinness is a good winter beer, but in summer at the beach, I prefer the lagers or such. Of course, during a BBQ, pale ales are quite nice :D
In short, a beer for every occasion is my motto!
BrainStop.

anyone know Hertog Jan ???
I also like "wiekse witte"
Heineken : the worst beer ever...
according to Heineken themselves it's kattepis.. (translates into something very bad :)
-
alright i voted for guiness, but you all forgot the best there ever was, is, and ever will be "NEW CASTLE" all of you people from brittian should agree. the best black and tan is a new castle mixed with a guiness. the best drink ever is called an irish car bomb. what you do is you mix a half a shot of whiskey(anything of your preference) with irish creamer and a hint of milk. then you drop the whole shot glass with everything in it into a glass full of GUINESS and pound the whole damn thing. I'm from California so imported beer is my preferece over the normal Buttwiper(budwieser) Colorado piss water(Coors light) and every other light and watered down beer the brew in america.
NEW CASTLE YOU MULLETTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
In any case, it has to be a porter, or a black and tan.
Don't want no lite.
Corona is good though, even if it isn't dark.
-
The best beer in the world is Heinken

Hertog Jan, Hoegaarden, Wiekse Witte, Kriek Lambiek, Leffe Blond Jupiler, Amstel, Amstel Bright, Duvel
All wellcome,
Grolsch > I believe I can only pronounce that after drinking too much of it and throwing up
Heineken > tastes like ****
Heineken Tarwe Bok > tastes even worse
I would say there are a lot of Dutch beers that really suck.
-
In beer I ould have to say that the best one I have every had has to be a corona, but not the USA corona but the one in Mexico..... after that I would say a nice stiff drink is always good. (black label)
