Last post at AO

I would just like to announce that this is my last post here at AO,

I am sick of everyone always fighting here. No one ever agrees with anyone here, and there are way to many flamers.Recently I even got into the addicts forum, and instead of being rewarded or patted on the back I got Antipoints and mean posts. Even though I posted everything off and talked to JP and was nice about it, people were still just being dicks.
I even put a couple tutorials here at AO that were very good and informational, but instead of anyone discussing them or talking about them, people yelled at me for not quoteing the source.
And even when I just posted opionated replies to threads all I got back were antipoints and disdain. One more thing, this is not an egotistical boosting post, like I said this is my last post, if you are curious I am also going off to another hacking/security related site. I am not posting it here because I would rather no one follow me. I am getting a fresh start at a new site where people will not be assanine to everyone.

The real world is full of people who aren't going to like you for many reasons, some legit some not. Nothing you can do or say will prevent this. So you have to grow a thick skin to not be put off by it. AO is like that. Sure lots of people are jerks (though less here than in the real world) but you need to weed thru them to find the good folks.

If you really don't like it here, I think we all can understand. This is an.....ecelectic group. If you don't fit, that sucks. But I think your giving up for the wrong reasons. Do as the Romans said: Don't Let the B@st@rds get you down!

This is how I deal with it. The only person you can please is ones self. If you spend your life attempting to make everyone else atound you happy or pleasing them. You in turn affect yourself. Not them. They continue on as always. In other words. If you give in they win.

Stick around and enjoy to kinship in the group among the one that aren't selfish and can express themselves without anger even if they differ in view. You contribute much to the forum and I have never seen you be brazen with you posts. I belong to other "hacker", "underground" and security groups. None of them even compare to this site. To many k1DD135 in them. Even the younger persons (no offense intended, I'm just an old fart) in this group are smart and eager to help and learn. They don't play games and crap as elseware. They may not be equal in age but they are in intellect. Most of all 99% of the young people in this group are a valuable assett and teach me a thing or two every day. I am 10-15 or more years older than some of them. But I learn allot from them because they are way beyond their years in charitor. Just disregard the 5k1d10t5 and enjoy life.

My point is that you are what you are and people don't always do things right. But you have to live with it. Moving on is a nomad trait that will get you no where except the same place you started out from.

I hope you'll stick around. You're gonna run into stuff like this every where you go. I think this is a good website, and you can learn a lot here. I understand you're feelings are hurt. It happens to me sometimes too. But there are some good, helpful people here too. You're going to run into criticism wherever you go. If it's fair accept it. If it's not, let it roll off you like water rolling off a duck's back.

That's the way it is on the Internet people get barbequed and
personally attacked all the time for there political views, what
they ate for lunch anything at all I've seen thousands
of flame wars on the Internet, Fidonet, BBS's name it,
they last from 10-15 posts sometimes 250 posts which
each person taking sides, it can go beyond flame wars
into lawsuits, denial of service attacks, e-mail bombing......
anyway to avoid grief problems here are some timeless
rules of thumb you may find useful in the future:


1) When responding to posts always exercise self control
and like other posters said wear a thick skin

2) Don't let yourself get suckered into a pointless argument
if you gets your facts wrong on the smallest detail he or
she will tear you apart like a T-Rex with sharp teeth yes
they may very well be very knowledgable about whatever
the subject is being discussed but all they want to do is
put you in your place and make you feel a bit smaller
the trick is to sense when they put out the bait.

3) Move on don't reply to a flame or if you are compelled to
reply make your point to the person and then drop the
subject if the flamer keeps going the group will attack him
and you'll save yourself alot of wasted energy in countering.

"if you cant handle the heat, stay out of the kitchen" hehehe.. but hey, i do agree there are lots of arseholes everywhere.. trust me on this coz i met more arseholes online for the past 2 - 3 years.. and da arseholes on Real Life are much more worse..

my point is, whatever happens here is normal. as a matter of fact it could even be better than others coz we got some REALLY good moderators here and good guys behind dem arseholes.

lol u have no idea how much i complian when i post something VERY useful and VERY security related and no body ever bother replying to them or reading them coz they prefer to reply to useless posts like "what is your favourite color?" and **** like that..

hmm if you REALLLY wanna meet nice people on the AO community.. come to irc.antionline.com coz thats where all the COOL d00ds hangs out.. not here. ;)

Boo Hoo we all get abuse, hell most of us get a hundred times the abuse you have recieved since joining. Also we always return and I suspect you will to perhaps under a new alias. I've made at least two similar posts and Im glad people told me to shut up and cope on as it taught that its not that important, flaming etc.

im starting to agree with him though... the amount of crap on this site seems to be rising... (i know i dd contribut to some of it... but i "learnded myself"

i think something needs to be done about it. especially the damned neg antipoints for agreeing with people, yeah i know its trivial, but its quite annoying.
