And formatting the drive doesn't work?
LOL
bring up command prompt and try formating it from there.
Make a mootable disk with format.exe on it. When format the hardrive.
Thanks, I'm new to all of this (obviously) but, trying to learn as I go.
Use format or fdisk, I would'nt reccomend fdisk if you are a newbie though... Its a bit faster though ;)
When you install suse, can't you format the partions from there? Make that delete the entire WinME partion?
Make a boot disk then restart your computer and type format c:
Warning mini rant about windows ME!
Windows ME was the worst peace of crap ever to come out of M$ never have I seen such a buggy os. If you encounter a computer with windows ME on it format the hard drive and install another OS Unix, Linux, Win XP, That OS you found on a disk behind you desk when you moved to a new office labeled (1983 Crappy OS). But what if it’s not my computer you say. Don't worry I've prepared a little script that should help you deal with this awkward moment.
Some guy: Hey who are you and what are you doing to my computer. Are you the new IT guy.
You: No I don't work here.
Some guy: Then what the hell are you doing to my computer.
You: I noticed that you had windows ME so I formatted you hard drive.
Some guy: [gets on phone and call security].
You: run like hell.
Thanks again for the help and yeah Souleman, installing SuSE delets the ME partition or asks if you want to. No more ME for me! Although, uh when I installed SuSE after formatting no modem or mouse was found LOL guess I gotta learn these things the hard way.
LOL cwk9! yah! that OS really saks!
secnob, fdisk and delete partitions if there is any, restart and format..
install new OS..
LOL ha ha
the best way is to use fdisk then format. make sure to backup your files first.
