Enough.
ummm...... What language do you know? How much is enough?
I have experience with VB, C++, Java, HTML, Delphi, VBscript and JavaScript...
Currently studying Perl
I don't think you can ever know to much.
Well enough to write a large app
Java C# C
Well enough to do some useful things
Perl PHP VBScript (which I dislike) Delphi Javascript
Vaguely
C++
I would like to learn VisualBasic. Is it hard to learn?
If you really knew all those languages you claimed to know you would know what Visual Basic is.Quote:
Well I know html if that even counts as one and I know a little bit of C++.
I think VB is pretty easy to learn. It wan't hard for me (whatever that's worth!!)
This Question gets asked liked once a month Jroc instead of wasting space why don't you do a forum search and reply to a thread that already asks this question.
But anyway C++, Java, Visual Basic, html, javascript, vbscript, and COBOL anything else would be uncivilized..lol.
jRoc On your website you say you know no programming languages.
odd.
HTML, JavaScript, PHP, XHTML, VBS, Batch & Shell, QBasic, CGI, C++ and I am about to learn ASM. (I have a lot of free time :))
English, Canadian English, Australian English, New Zealand English, a bit of German, some Spanish, and a few phrases of Norwegian. :D
Oh, wait. You were talking about computer languages. I don't. I am a graphic's person. :)
I know a little c++. One day I will get around to learning java.
I have used C++, Perl, Visual Basic, PHP(just learning), Javascript and HTML if u wanna count that..
BTW, visual basic is useless unless you plan on working with windoze and windoze only. Just stick to/learn C++ its more powerful anyway. :D
I know programming languages but my site has asked for other people who ALSO know them. We are specificly looking for people who know advanced perl and VBasic. Also delphi would be good.
maybe all basic, pascal, c, c++, html, java, script, foxbase, little asm and now studying perl
html, javascript, basic, pascal, turing, now learning perl and python.
I almost know nothing, but i would like to learn. I know Visual Basic and l'm learning C++.
Delphi is very similar to VB although it might be more cross-platform independent than VB ever will be (not that hard to do). As for knowing languages...you can know a ton of shite about a language and still learn something from a total n00b. In JRoc's defense (n00bish's post), almost everything he listed could be done on command-line in unix/linux. Then again I could be wrong.
As for me, I know a little, hehe...
I know many.
A good amount of C++, little VB, little Assembly, some Qt. I don't like VB anymore, but am trying to learn Assembly to understand all the virii this site has. I learned C++ first.
I know English :)
Hmm, I know HTML, Perl, JavaScript and a tiny bit of PHP and C/C++
It's not how manny things you can programm it's how good you are!
I Can programm in C/C++ And VB (I Don't whant to learn other things)
I Just whant to be good at the 2 language!
If you whant to earn money it's not the high money you earn with know 20 languages ½ but with know 1/2/3 languages on a high level!
Remember That! (The world is not made to superman any more).
VB,C++,html,CF mostly c++ though
Truti> you made a really good point, but that isn't always the case. Yes, if you want to be a programmer, you will make more money by knowing one or two languages. In my case, I don't want to be a programmer. I don't write programs, but I do some debugging of them. So is it better to be able to debug C++ and VB, or C/C++, VB, perl, python, and Java (which we use here) along with html, pascal, COBOL, LOGO, CICS, and Fortran. Although I don't really consider html a language......Anyway, I couldn't write a program better then Hello World in any one of those languages write now (although I have at one time or another), but I can normally debug just about anything in any one of those languages.
I know HTML and some QBASIC (No, I'm not old). Currently learning Java.
Hope to learn perl or C++.
Like just about everyone else html ;) , vbasic starting c and c++
HTML, CSS (if that counts) and a bit of VB
not enough i know, i know, but if i learn too much i might start forgetting normal languages, ignirghseyrlkj sdhfjuksdyf?

Quote:No but on his site he means that he cannot program with any programming language, this question was about the names of the programming languages! :DQuote:

odd.
So, I knew all the previously mentioned plus LISP, SNOBOL, Assebly, RSL, SSI, NoteTab. I think I know some others more but I just can't remember them right now.

Btw, sorry for all those quotes but I really had to test that "Quote checked" feature... ;)
Edit/Add: D'oh!! Is there really a limit of only two smileys / a message?? This keeps informing me that I've used too much images...
Edit2/Add2: Okay, I guess the limit is four.
Fluent with: C/C++, HTML, and Java/Jini
Decent With: Basic/VisualBasic and Perl
Long ago: Cobol, Fortran77, and VHDL
I know HTML, perl, QBasic, Visual Basic, C++, Hex, binary, ASM(currently learning), C, ASP, and Java. I wan to learn PHP and Python, then I think I am pretty much set.

Is it okay if i borrow your brain for a while ? ;)
lol how about I make you a copy on disk.
I got a good grip on C++, Visual Basic and Java. Well, VBScript and JavaScript are just scripting languages but I know them as well. HTML is a markup language and in my opinion, it won't count as a programming language. I got a background on almost all flavors of programming languages (old or new) [Fortran, QBasic, Pascal, COBOL... u name it] By the way, I'm currently learning C#
It is better to develop programs using a Linux box... minus the VB.
I'm learning Perl. It was the first language I've tried, and seems to make sense. I know a little java, but not enough to keep my head above water.
Once you know one language, is it easy to adapt those concepts to others?
Once I got a grip on perl, java and python, I then planned to tackle C++...... Is it worth learning these other languages?????
Thanks in advance
English, Russian, C, Perl, Action Script
I have touched on HTML, Java, and C/C++ though only touched on them. Currently i have alot of free time i intend to use this time to become more versed in HTML, C/C++, and Assembly. Though ,might leave the Assembly until i have my head around a few more high level languages.
Kindred69
Not many but want to learn more.Presently i know alittle bit of C,Perl and C++

Let's see...I know [gloworange]VB, C/C++, Java [/gloworange] (Sun Certified....YEAH!), [glowpurple]COBOL[/glowpurple] (and still actually use it), [gloworange]HTML, JSP, ASP...[/gloworange]
Dabble some in [gloworange]XML[/gloworange] for data mapping...with a little XSLT for good measure...[shadow]hoping to replace an EDI infrastructure with something more modern, but the suits don't like it very much [/shadow] .
