Is a girl's "private area" related to churches?

Wanna hear about a weird correlation?

in the female anatomy, known by many nicknames, but should be called the vulva, there are quite a few given names for parts of the vulva that relate to something you'd never think: the church.

on the first note, before we do any comparing, the part where the pelvic bone creates a bulge and where most of the pubic hair is is called the mons veneris, which translates into "the mound of venus," and venus is the goddess of love. ****ing cool, huh?

within the lips known as the labia minora there is a thing called the vestibule, which holds the urethral opening and the vaginal opening (aka the introitus). now, vestibules are commonly known to be hallways that are found in catholic churches and whatnot.

and about the introitus, like i said, it is another name for the vaginal opening. however, an introit is an opening hymn or song that is sung at the beginning of mass, which i believe is also a catholic thing. how cool. you got the goddess of love sitting above the vulva and the little place where you sing.

If I knew the source of this, I'd cite it, but I don't. I found it on my PC in an old text file, so probably one of my friend's wrote it. Sorry. It's weird and funny, nonetheless.

Wow, pretty interesting...if that's the case though, why do so many churches have ****ing gay child molesting pastors/etc and hell, the catholic church had some 7,000 people in a kiddie-porn ring?

Vorlin: lol, I have no idea. It's all about the sexual stuff, though...more porn fanatics in the churches than there are in a gay bar.

lol, acid...that one's a teaser. I think I might do a bit more research into this and see which came first, the church or the chick...hehe.

1. Venus has nothing to do with the Church. Venus was a pagan goddess. The Church doesn't do pagan Gods. That was the Romans.

2. Here's a dictionary definition of vestibule:
a. A small antechamber behind the outerdoor of a building; an entrance hall; lobby.
b. The enclosed passage between railroad passenger cars.
c. (Anat) Any of several chambers or channels adjoining or communicating with others: vestibule of the ear.

The word comes from the Latin vestibulum, entrance hall.

My points: other kinds of buildings have vestibules. For entrance a post office or a government building could have a vestibule. Also, other parts of the body besides the female sexual anatomy have vestibules.

3. Introit comes from the Latin intro (in) + ire (to go). I don't have a Latin dictionary with me, but I would be willing to bet ( ;) ) that introitus has a similar origin. It seems both terms have to do with entrances and openings. But one denotes a musical work; the other denotes a part of the anatomy.

So, in conclusion (no offense intended) I don't believe there really is any connection. :)

Of course there's no "real" connection, pal. It's just funny to take words that are similar, and deprived from similar sources, and say they're like because the two said subjects are completely different in actuality.

Go figure, a monk that has never got a peace of @§§ would associate womans body parts to there own living areas ! ! ! .Prob a bad case of blue balls.

Doh! Most architetural terms we use came from the Latin language.
Well, so did most anatomical terms.

In fact there is so much Latin in the European languages (including English)
that you can find "mysterious " connections between almost anything.

There's the Proboscis, that is, nose or probe.
That's why we have computer programs called Probes, that "sniff" out
the information we want.

Ok Jehnx, but from some of the other posts I got the idea people were thinking there was a real correlation. So I posted.

lol, that is quit funny, Mathematicaly, EVERYTHING is suposed to dorrelate in one minor way as loong as all things are equal!....which to me means **** all....

I feelt I needed to exspand on my last post!....
If we consider the Big bang theology, It says that all matter and energy derived from one point, the little know second part to thins is when all mater returns to that one point (Well'l be loooong gone), commonly know as the Big Crunsh! (heheh...Capt'n Crunch)
If all mater recombined, and returned to pure energy, you would be left with a PERFECT sphere about the size of a marble, containing the entire universe!
This state can not be held for long (Not Long in universal terms....could be billions of years).
When the Big bang happened again......All energy would be equaly distubuted again...and history would repeat it self, true incarnation.....
The pattern only repeats itself over and over again, and there for all things are related and all things correlate, just in a pattern so vast, we'll never see it all.
That is my theory....sory for babeling...

preacherman481, its true that todays church may not 'do' pagan gods, they just rename pagan things and use them. For example, right around this time of year was the celebration of the pagan goddess eostar.

Well Tedob 1, you got me on that one! :D As a matter of fact, if you look at some of the hymns in my denominations hymn book (United Methodist) I've heard that some of them may have been tavern drinking songs that were given Christian lyrics. Guess it's a case of "theological recycling."
