Question.......what exactly is a shell? I know, I wanna know if you know what your asking for.

Do you know about social engineering? Just call an ISP using social eng. and request them a shell account. Like this:
Gforce^: Hi there, Is it possible to give your users a shell account?
Admin: Hmm, you are a hacker, right?
Gforce^: No I just wish to be. I am going to try to hack a .gov site.
Admin: Oh yes you are welcome here is the the user id and pass: user id :lamer pass: blank

Gee unleashed, your not very good. Last time I tried that, they gave me the password for root. Then again, I told them they might as well, because it would save their processor time when I started running crack on their system.

i doubt they'd give u reasonable amount of space if its for free.. i got a crappy 5MB free space.. lol.. but then i only used it for my IRC bot.. so 5MB was enough..

btw, never ever ever back things up with a shell... coz u never know when the host decides to disappear.. hahahha

or in some cases.. clear the HDD.. hahaha

This is for example only. Go to www.freeshell.org....only with limited service. (...it's free...duh...). How to use 'em? Install *nix (FreeBSD,Linux etc), study and practic....

I'm guessing that most isp's don't give out shell accounts. The ones who do most likely would want a letter of reference from you boss explaining why you need a shell account to do your job.

You could always try social engineering. Chances are if you are asking for a shell account you have bad social skill in the first place so this will be tricky. So just stick to my script and don't **** your pants.

ISP: I just answer phones let me get you some one else.
You: [look at porn while they put you on hold]
ISP2: Why do you need a shell account?
