Winbox over NixBox
All the guides on the internet are for like breaking into banks, servers, linux servers and so forth. Well I'm not into that.. All I want to do is explore windows PCs. Like the one the average family would have. I'm not the type of kid who is going to destroy home PCs accross america.. all I want to do is explore.. and see what they got. Can someone pease hep me out? Link me to some good books, eZines, eBooks, texts and so forth.. Thanks

I could probably help you, but I don't think you would appreciate the help very much. Hope PC's are just as illegal to hack as business computers. Plus. most of the people we help to secure their machine are on home pc's. Why do you feel the need to invade the privacy of other people? Is your own computer not good enough for you?

lol, probably looking for a free pr0n stash or something.

LOL looking for the secret porn stash.. hahah.. All I want to do I expore other people computers. It's all just curisitoy. Thanks

Also..I would greatly apprechiate your help

Ok, the guides you're speaking of can be used by you as a stepping stone, or the like. If they give you instructions on how to break into a band or some crap, you could easily turn that around.
I would not advice hacking into anyone's computer, however, but do what you will with your own computer. It's your life; you make your own decisions.
Also, I would suggest you learn a programming language, something of the relative or C or some Perl or something. This will greatly help you. And hopefully, once you get finished with your quest to master the progging language you sought after, you will come to the "white hat" side and use your skills for something good and productive.

Can you link me to those guides? Please

You already said you had seen the guides. Why do you need new links to them?
btw..exploring peoples personal computers isn't a quest for curiousity. It is still illegal.
Saying a quest for knowledge like the old school hackers doesn't cut it in this case. They wanted to learn how a system works. If you want to learn how a pc works, hack your own machine. If you want to learn how the phone company works, you hack the phone company. See the difference? They were looking for knowledge on how things work. Now, most of that knowledge can be found on your own machine. Anything you could learn from another PC, you can learn from yourself. Unless of course you are trying to find a way to blackmail someone. Or you think your grilfriend is cheating on you. Or you just want to put up a bunch of trojan bots, so you can take over an irc channel. Then we are talking about being malicious....
-
I agree with souleman if you are curious about how a system works hack your own system not someone elses. How would you feel if someone hacked your computer and wiped out your cmos or bios with a virus? Or got your isp pwd or someother pwd and made like he was you? Not fun trust me. If you are seriously that interested in learning about computers learn a programming language.

I wrote a tutorial called "turning your windows computer into a hackerbox" it is available on :
http://hackergurus.tk
It is about locally tweaking your BOX .
You should read it.
If you like it let me know (pm). If you follow the affiliates links you''ll find more like breaking in on restricted boxes or restricting a box yourself (for your anoying little nephew)
cheers

Where do you seed the word(S) "hacker" "learn to hack" " 311373 hax0r" in the url www.antionline.com
Let me answer the question : you dont
Why do you think were going to help your invade other peoples privacy??
We are here to help each other learn about the stuff we aren't experts in. Since we ask legit questions to each other we actually learn something......
Hacking isn't as easy as just add water. Unless you want to spend alot of time in jail i would warn you to learn this real quick.

commando> hacker is in the tagline, but not because it is teaching how to hack ;)
-
you got me there soule :)
Does it seem to you that we've been getting a ton of the "hacker" wanna bes lately?

I don't want to crash other peoples computers. I don't want to delete anything. I don't want to give them virii. I don't want to steal stuff.. All I want to do is look around. That's it. And please don't flame. All you have to say is 'It's illegal.. look somewhere else'. Thanks

Hey, in reference to your last post:
And please don't flame. All you have to say is 'It's illegal...look somewhere else'
You seem to hae that down, why waste our time by having us repeat it, Read a book and learn.

Please don't post flames???
Then don't post friggin lame questions.

Ok zero ice you say all you want to do is explore and see what computers can do. Well you can start by learning things at home. You'd be surprised about what you don't know about your own system. So here are a few tips to help you out in your quest for "knowledge":
1. If you haven't already learn a programming language and write some nice programs. I recommend VB
2. If you are fed up with the blue screen of death switch to a linux OS
3. If you don't feel like learning a new OS set up a home network and experiment with that. Now thats lots of fun!!!
4. Now once you've played around with that Learn Linux
5. Now set up a home network using linux as the server and the client
6. Set up a home network using linux as the server and Windows as the client
Just some tips to help you out. There are lots of resources on the net about these topics (like right here in AO) and I'm sure we'd be glad to help you out in these endevours.

hi
if you want to explore a windows pc i recommend learning the DOS basics as well. among the best books for this are: MS-DOS 5.0 Users Manual/Guide, MS-DOS 6.22 Users Manual/Guide, any Dummies Guide to DOS, if they do exist, and various documentation / help files / HOWTOs / tutorials on the net and in your local bookstores. after that, if you believe that you are up to it, and ready for another challenge, i recommend playing around with linux, and never mind windows at all. =)
regards,
mark.
