New tech is always prone to bugs that have to be tweaked out. Hopefully this one isn't too major.
love to have one, But the price!
No really I swear its impossible to do. Atleast thats what everyone else says...when you think about going forward it goes forward. In order to crash they must not have any confidence in the Segway all hail the Segway!!
I agree it is impossible to do. Lucky for that cop they didn't publish his name!
I've been wondering just how they did do it. So far the only thing I can come with is that they were going backwards/forwards, then switched to the opposite direction too quickly, upsetting the segway
btw, nothing is foolproof, if it is, they will just make a better fool
I am not surprised a cop did it... :D
That $9,000 scooter is proof that people can't get any lazier.
heh i don't care if some cop fell of it - I want one :)

can't be done and weight only 65lbs. maybe if it runs on 4 "D" batteries
Talk about the most stupid looking and idiotic device I have seen in a long time. If I was a cop, Id be embarassed enough if I had to ride a bicycle, but there would be no way in hell Id ride around looking like the village idiot on that thing. Give me a good ol' Black and white squad car, or maybe a motorcycle. Leave the clown car in the circus.
well there is always the possibility he was leaning way forwards and hit sand or something which caused the wheels to slip and him to fall over...or a large bump/something that would slow it down(going quickly, hence leaning far forwards, and hitting a sharp incline, possibly the driveway mentioned)Quote:

next - cops on roller blades or scooters.
Having dealt with Atlanta PD before I'm not suprised.
I understand they were on loan to the PD, but I sure hope they aren't actually thinking about buying these things. $9,000 would buy a few decent mountain bikes or train a K-9, buy ballistic vests, radios, ammo, etc. That's a whoop of money to spend on a novelty item, just to be the "first" to use it.
All that I'm going to say is that once I begin working as a police officer, there is no *****ing way I'll be riding one of those....
(good thing those things don't work in snow or large potholes....)
sorry... but i get the feeling that this is jsut a big hype.... its really not that cool or new of an idea..... i find it kinda.... embarassing that people are going crazy about these things....
All I have to say is it should have been a DC cop...
Me too. Thus, I begin the "Get Jim a Segway Campaign." I'll be accepting donations as of now. Check or money order made payable to:Quote:

A penny for your thoughts, but I expect change...
