Whats the most accurate way to locate the location of an IP adress. *please don't flame me at least i'm not asking where i can find sub7 =)*
There are many ways to do it!!
Here is a webpage one...
http://www.all-nettools.com/tools1.htm
u mid as well have asked where to get sub7.... at least thats a question we can all laugh about
try a look up or whois or trace route ect ect
dont have any idea what im talking bout? www.google.com
--NetSyN
i've done all that but somehow i end up in alaska or somewhere when i enter my own IP
I guess people missed the last tread JP put up about new features, here on AO..
Go to tools/toys and use the IP Locator!
i used that i livei n oakland California but when i used that IP locator i ended up in Virginia
The reason for that is that your last found router/switching station is located in Virginia...
I live in Sudbury (Ontario - Canada) but my IP is located at Ottawa (ON - CA)
Your IP Provider is also getting IP provided to them from another location....
thanx anyways
try www.neotrace.com
yup... neotrace works well, usually! It pinpoints my location to, uh, within 100 miles!
lol nice questions.. dont feel bad bout asking it tho.. it wasnt a lame one.. not like you were hasking how do i crack into hotmail or something ..

I was going to suggest Neotrace, although what I've always heard is that it is a Windows based program and can be fooled, I could be wrong about that. I figure it's harder to fool a DOS application than it would be to fool a Windows app. But I'm a newbie myself, so I could be completely wrong.
please ppl let this thread die (s)he question has been answered a lot of times by a lot of good ppl
