invalid thread link...
but since You already addressed the "Forum Suggestion" thread I have something.
I am curious as to what everyone would think as to posting new security threats, advisories, etc as they come up. Even if they arent stored in the Forums it would be nice to have the database of advisories as AO once had...why not keep them up to date? I would sure contribute and I have had experience doing this for another site before.

Sounds like a good idea to me.Quote:

On a slightly related note: I've been noticing for a while that the time given for posts is becoming further and further ahead of my time (now almost twenty minutes). A couple minutes, the disparity could be understood, but this is rather large. My time compared to the official US time at www.time.gov is only five minutes off, yours about 15 minutes. Perhaps you should reset the time every now and then? Thanks for reading

yeah the time thing is way off.... this should be no big deal to fix either...... i'm 16 now but about a year ago i wrote a vb prog to update time on my computer from timeservers on the internet. i forgot what port but its a low one and it's very easy to do. I have forgotten all the detailed stuff cos i've been busy with school and friends and all. it isn't a big deal on a windows comp and i don't see why it would be harder for unix.

themaster_2001 screwed up his/her signiature, but JP has banned him/her now so we shouldn't have any more trouble. :)
As for scrolling horizontally, I've noticed that this occurs quite frequently on AO, and it is extremely annoying. However, if someone posts pre-formatted code e.g., which is over 100 characters, it's likely to cause a lot of people to scroll.Code:like this
I think part of the scrolling issue has to deal with what browser you are using also. The only time I have to scroll in IE is when there is a really long mood that takes up extra space, or when I have the window really small. In an old verson of mozilla, I have to scroll a lot. In opera 5, I rarely have to scroll also.
I am not sure if you are making a suggestion, or showing a bug bassed on what browser you are using.
Greetings All:
Damn, did this thread go in every direction under the sun or what? Let's try to keep it at 1 suggestion per thread, ok?
Many of the suggestions/comments mentioned in this thread have already been addressed, so I'm going to close it.
