What do you mean a site that language is on?
Thanks for your time~
Alright, first off I'm not sure what you mean by "a site that the language is on". If you are just new to programming you should start with something simple and easy like Java and leave more complicated languages like C and HTML alone until you gain experience with other ones first.
I wonder how many fecking times this question has been asked...
jethro I noticed this aswell. There is a search on the main page Obliterate. It's on the top right to be exact. It's a great resource.
I Would Recommend www.lameindustries.org , cyrus is great.Ive learned alot of things from his site.
what language you could use depends also on your OS.....
install linux and there are plenty of languages.... (awk, python, tcl/tk, perl, etc.)
Atleast i didn't ask how to hack hotmail
lol! good call dude
Uhm... For the record. HTML is not anything like a programming language. HTML has nothing to do with programming and the fact that you mention it as a complicated languge together with C really confuses med. You smoking crack or what? ;)Quote:

Hyper Text Markup Language :p
It would be classed as an Object Oriented, interpreted language iirc :D
But it isnt hard to do :)
google.com, it is without the doubt the best resource. Just type in your topic in the search box, and boom.... ;]
HTML is not iterpreted and it isn't object oriented either. It has no statements, no evaluation mechanisms, no way of storing data for evaluation and no control structures. In short - it is not a programming language at all.Quote:

HTML is a way to to mark up text in ways that a browser can render. It has absolutely nothing to do with programming and even less to do with the delicate theory of object orientation.
Then again, maybe you weren't serious?
Nah, I'm just a bit tired. I think I'm getting mixed up with Javascript. All together there's gotta be something in HTML, cookies and JS, but what? You don't have to compile it at least ;)

try python for a first languege u can go here http://python.org its quite easy 2 pick up and they have a few on line tutorials for u 2 read 2
Hm, I followed the python links because I keep meaning to learn, but the tutorial keeps mentioning IDLE/python GUI and there is nothing in my download of it that suggests it could function as such. Non of the files seem to be that, I don't know, on a scale of 1-10 how dumb am I being here?! Sorry, do any of you a) follow what I'm saying and b) know how to remedy it? The tutorial says it's for beginners and I assumed that meant it would be step-by-step...I got the d/l from http://python.org/doc/Newbies.html and I'm following the tut on http://www.honors.montana.edu/~jjc/e...de1.html...Can anyone explain the error of my ways?
XXX
what version do u have and IDLE is intergrated development enviroment u can read about it here http://python.org/idle
and i get the not found error onthe tutorial link did u get the refered link from the site?
k, it doesn't matter about the tut link, it works for me and it's a good tutorial but it didn't tell me how to find the IDLE - I know what it stands for, just didn't get the path. However I can now rate myself about 8-9/10 for dumbness! I should have been able to find that link, sorry. Thankyou! That has instantly cleared up all my earthly worries, you're a star prodikal!

Visual Basic & C/C++ is a good language to start. Then go for the Assembly.
for a language id say C/C++.. as for a web site.. i dunno any offhand
i would suggest something like pascal if you are just starting out w/programming.
if you really want to get down start out by learning C++ then you will be the mad programmer
Yeah, I was just gonna type that, you beat me to it. I have to say, it is a pretty bad idea to start with vbasic and c++. politroyx do you know those 2 langs? Cause I don't think you'd reccomend them if you did. And also, most people don't bother learning assembly, it is hard and so much can be done with c++ and java and other high class langs like that. It would be a good idea to start with pascal as it is easy to learn and just as easy to compile using turbo pascal. And if you have windows, you should try batch programming, it is also simple and it needs no special programs if you have windows. There is a tutorial on it in the tutorials forum somewhere. If you want to learn web design 'cause I can't really tell from your post, you have to learn html first. It is fairly easy as well, as it is all memorization. After you get the hang of the learning process, try learning something like cgi, or visual basic. By then you'll have experience and be able to learn these at a good speed. Also try buying books at your local bookstore or online, the for dummies series has a very good book on c++.
you learn c you can program anything....many languages derive from it...java...javasript....you have the most freedom w/ the C programming language.....good luck
polytroix >> Uh...VC/VC++??? That's alot to learn for a beginner...I know Assembly but I don't know anything about C/C++(be it Visual C/C++)...I recommend something like Qbasic then Pascal,Assembly(it goes with Pascal) and then any other hard programming languages.Oh,give VB a look and c if you like it Obliterate. What he meant by the site it is on is a programming resource site for that programming language.
