Member Spotlight.

I see on the right hand side of there is one of the cells below the w2uick tips one, with the heading "Member Spotlight" However this never has anything in it. What is it for? Anyone know?

Redgore I noticed the cell too, perhaps it's to put a member in the spotlights monthly or something? I have no idea. JP is probably working on it. Terr? Negative? perhaps they know.

negative said it was for birthdays when a user has a bday they go in their...?
but its negative and its me so he was probly lyeing to me again :(

That is from the "Updated profile" page. It probably checks the birthday at the start of the day, so it didn't show anything for redgore. Unless of course there is a bug in it someplace.....

Yeah, but the Member Spotlight is a completely different section from the Calendar where the birthdays will be posted. I think it's to highlight a contributing member, give a little additional information other than what the basic profile provides...something like that. Whatever it is, I'm freaking curious so someone TELL ME WHAT IT IS!!!

Edit: I clicked on Security Events and it does list all the birthdays, so without exactly knowing what the member spotlight is, if it had to do with birthdays at all, there are a few birthdays today that would have shown in the spotlight according to the calendar. I think I'll go with my previous assumption.

I bet he put it there to make us all discuss what it was there for... JP does have a sick mind sometimes, and I think he wants up to all go crazy trying to decide why the section is there. Then again, maybe my post should be in the cosoms section, because it is a conspiracy.....

If it was what I suspected it to be, I think that's really awesome, sort of like a montly interview of a AO member, get to know some interesting things about them. Great way to promote community in forums like this, getting to know your neighbor...etc.

It's there to show of my stunning good #FFFFFF looks, 24/7/365, excepting downtime. Actually, I have no idea either. The problem is that it is statistically certain that there are some people here with identical birthdays (whether they put them into their profile is another matter...) and unless you want multiple featured users... :/ Perhaps a random thingy?

Well, it's probably for the member thats obsessed with figuring out what its for, or maybe, it's for the member with he most Anti-Points? Who knows, try going on IRC and asking the people there, they might know..

That's a good one. Most of the people that posted in this thread are on IRC a lot, at least when I visit the chat they are there.

This started as a discussion on IRC, leading to redgore posting here (He rarely posts on the site, although he seems to have done so more recently.)

Still no one knows what the Member Spotlight is for.

My guess? It's for JP to add something "new and exciting" when/if he feels like it... ;-)

Well, seems to me this site is promoting hacking by unfair treatment, if more servers go down thats the webmasters fault for letting immature people control his website, Today I got a very, very stupid message saying, "you been asking inappropriate questions like "How Can I Hack HotMail"? Stop!", Yet I never even asked ONE question reguarding anything, the only thing I do on here is state my opinions, seems to me someone likes harrassing me about my point of view, if you don't like me, you can go suck a dick, or you can simply ignore me, you don't have to ****ing threaten me with your lame and immature lies saying i'm asking **** you came up with right out of ****ing nowhere, so i'm continuing to protest until this harrassment stops, or I get banned, if I do it won't be a big loss, because all i do on here is chat and state my opinions, and if you don't like it, you can take YOUR opinion and shove it up your ass...
