drugs
Three words: DONT DO THEM
I know recently i've been acting like an idiot the past couple threads http://www.antionline.com/showthread...824#post551824 (there was another one but JP deleted it) mainly because of speed. speed will mess you up big time. if you want to think all of your friends hate you, the government is after you, your parents are trying to get rid of you, go ahead and try it for about 2 weeks. not to mention that you wont sleep or eat the whole time.
consider this an apoplogy for making this site unproffesional and for making useless posts and threads for that period of time. i am sorry
-
Wow...2 weeks of substance abuse. You must be an expert...
Do a quick search for the effects of long term alcohol abuse and you'll see which drug is the real killer...
-
Excuse me number one in any abuse of any drug including drink is the forst step in understanding something is wrong. Not a question of being an expert is is knowing your vice is not doing any good and changing that behavior. So tell you what Conf1rm3d_Kill aim your balance of negs to me. Then grow up and understand a public statement of a problem is a path of growth and changing, and excuse me I was adressing a Yank in this post :) You are not one!
-
you've admited you haf a problem thats the first step

As usual, I don't understand a word of what you've said. Punctuation, my friend, punctuation.
Perhaps I was a little harsh. I hate it when people blame "drugs" instead of taking responsibility for their own actions...and I haven't neg'ed anyone in this thread, although you came very close with your gibberish... ;)
-
Like H.T. said, you've made the first step....this may or may not have been the proper venue to make this admission but at least you're trying to get on the right path.
-
That's cause I don't speak the Queens English I speak american english and know it's culture well. As simple as I can explain it is culture 5150 did not blame their actions on drugs they simply said I messed up and know my mistake. Am glad my ways and wording confuse you cause I learn more about you then you me. Did I forget a comma? what a period? oops no cap there. Americans understand me you do not is not my problem is an American site after all. Go on now confirm your kill :) It is an issue of culture share a meal in many cultures as I have. I respect all people but ask American questions..lame as they can be at times and usually I hear laughter.
-
LOL....You don't make any sense....I don't even know if I've offended you? I apologise if I have, but perhaps you should keep your accusations of dishing out negs to yourself. Also, I'm sure "American english" as you put it, has proper punctuation too.
Here's a link you might want to check out..Thanks for the laugh!
-
Palemoon does have an odd way of phrasing things. I hope this doesn’t turn into one of those America vs. the world threads. The fact is some people are just better writers than others. Me being at the lower end of the spectrum.
-
-
5150, admitting you have a drug problem is a good thing. What do you plan to do about it? Even though you might be sorry for the things you did during your drug abuse, there is fogiveness out there. However, you need to realize there are cosequences. Forget AntiOnline... that is the least of your problems. There are others out there that need you, and trust me, you are not there when you are frying on chemicals. You need to focus on YOU first and try to see where things went wrong.
As a recovering addict, it's a daily struggle and no recovering addict is ever 100% over it. It's just a growing process that entials responsibility to yourself and finding ways to cope with problems more constructively. That's not easy, and will not happen overnight.
If you want somebody to talk to, I'll be here for ya man.

The choice to do drugs is a choice that each individual makes. But often that is the last concious choice a person hooked on drugs makes.
Once the drugs get a hold of you, they make you work to get them. Your choices are gone. They take control.
If it was as easy as choosing not to do it then no one would ever get hooked on them.
The blame lies intially with the one that choses to do the drugs but no one chooses to lose control and become hooked. Whether alcohol, tobacco or actual street drugs, prescription drugs, doesn't matter. No one wants to be an addict when they grow up.
Compassion for those that have learned they are not perfect, that they have faults is necessary. After all it could have been you, you made a different choice to start with, but what if?
Be thankful for those that have made the first step. Each small step is a huge step for those afflicted.
You are on your way 5150. Congratulations on your first step and good luck with all the rest.

i just have to say that Conf1rm3d and Palemoon's banter was 'excellent' ala Bill and Ted.
a bit more on topic now tho,
i always thought that it was Americans, that some how made cannabis illegal, because it was a better textile than cotton. and might have ruined their economy because theirs was cotton. but it turned out that was no more than a theory. fixating on big business, i gave little thought to alcohol and tobacco companies, because if cannabis was legal it would probably only be sold in bars or off-licences, so you would end up buying more drink. and well, you would smoke more tobacco if cannibis was legal, so its safe to say it wasn't the tobacco companies. more recently i figured, its most likely the pharmacuticle companies. THC is a naturally occuring compound, and so could not be paitented, and sold. made sence for a while. but it doesn't explain why tobacco companies can sell nicotene.
anyway, it turns out that back in 1912 (or was that 1902 :) ) in the united nations (second) opium conference (where they were decieding on what to do with opium laws and trade routes) some egyption foreign minister had a problem with the committes decision. he didn't like the pending fact that other countries could continue exporting cannabis, and he would no longer be able to export opium. so the committee asked him, to tell them (effectively tell the world) why cannibis should be illegalised. and his reply was something to the effect of...cannabis is a dangerous and addicting drug. it causes [i]acute hashism[i/] in frequent users, and some cases can progress into whats known as chronic hashism. the eyes become blood shot and closed and the sufferer becomes disorentiated and sick, eventually going insane. seemingly, egypt had a high percentage of insane people in the country at the time, and this was used as proof that cannabis was infact, dangerous. in the years following the crimanilisation of cannabis sativa, the number of insane egyptions in the world rose dramatically.

Why thank you, although, I'm still not really sure what the hell Palemoon was talking about. Especially the parts about "American English" or "I was adressing a Yank" (sic)...That guy's definitely out there....oh well...
5150_ You might want to check out this link. It should be a lot more helpful than posting this kind of stuff here.
I still stand by my original post. Two weeks of substance abuse does not a junkie make. But, if you feel you need help after only two weeks check out the link......good luck, I suppose.
-
drugs are bad dont do drugs...drugs are bad dont do drugs...hey, um children, where'd the example plant go, who has my example? CHILDREN!!!! WHO HAS THE EXAMPLE!?!?!?
for those of you who dont know where thats from it was on a south park episode a while back... but as for the writing thing, it just has to do with whether you care what it looks like, we are all decent writers some better than others but if you dont care to write good then you dont and then everyone thinks your dumb
-
Maybe it's possible that he took speed for 2 weeks straight, not just two weeks out of his whole life. He was apologizing for the way he acted, and he was completely ripped apart for no reason whatsoever. I'm honestly sick and tired of senior members who come into valid threads and belittle the people in it, bullying them into submission just because they can. It's ridiculous. No one wants to play your cliquish little games. Drug abuse is not a funny matter and shouldn't be made fun of, especially when someone apologizes and admits the problem, it's just sad that he's not part of community where he can make an honest mistake and try to redeem himself for it.
-
well, I for one, think it's foolish to even admit it to us
get help.. from a professional.. not from a forum
that's my 2 cents
-
I agree that it was very uncalled-for to come into a thread and tear this guy apart because he is saying he's sorry. As many useless, retarded, generally stupid threads that come onto AO every single day, and one of a fellow member (who's been here for a good while and has contributed to the community) is belittled by others for no reason that I can think of. As I said in another thread: If you don't like what they're saying, shut yer eyes and don't read it. Simply.
-
Bah! A cry for help or just a bad come down? Either way, there's better places than here to seek help...5150- I posted a link in a previous thread if you want forums to discuss this type of thing in...
If I came across a little harsh than I apologise. It's just the way I post. I've been doing it for months and months. It doesn't win me any friends, that's for sure, but on the same note it's nothing I lose sleep over...
GG, you've only been here since May. Please don't tell me how to post......
-
He wasn't crying for help, he wasn't asking for it, nor was he really posting to discuss it, he was simply apologizing for his past posts.
-
My best freind was hooked on Crank. (Crystal Meth) for over a year and a half. He became someone I didnt even know. Recently he was in a car accident and got a concussion. He went to the hospital and had a CAT scan done. The saw to streaks of scar tissue going from the front of his brain, all the way to the back. He has little cartilage left in his septum, because it was torn while doing a rail. So I would have to agree with you on the fact that Drugs are bad.
-
Humm did not know of a debate I simply spoke to another American as an American and I am not ashamed for that. As for what I speak to it is a different concept when you remove the code you have people and what they do. I profile people here not for anyone but my own quest to undersand all people of this world. It is a very abstract area of of the web and humans understanding each other, their culture, language and customs and how it all apears here. Gonna give it to GG she is a Med student and works her rear off and you ota put in intern time not pretty. Let points fall where they may, I got to where I am in life by living it one day at a time and then seen it taught to kids :) Is it more important to make a green point or stand your ground?
-
Just so people know Senior members more or less created their own thread mocking this one at http://www.antionline.com/showthread...&pagenumber=2. Guess points in the green are good then I've not given any points to either threads.
-
i was addicted to speed for about 6 month`s and trust me i would never take it again the result being i now take panic attack`s on a regular basis if any 1 has taken a panic attack they will know what it is like it is the worst feeling ever when i started taking them i thought i was dying or something and i am now getting psychiatric help :( for deppression etc
-
>shakes head< Palemoon, what in the WORLD did you just say?
/cleans out ears
Please reiterate. I have no idea how that relates to the current discussion.
-
5150, I hope you didn't just start a trend of admitting your habbits, I would hate for everyone to start posting similiar stories "as one about chewing dip, and over coming tobacco". It would be worse if we start throwing points at these individuals. It is great that you are able to overcomes these temptations, but we have younger people that no matter how much you down them, they see you did it, and they are going to do it.... Think of that...
-
Actually joey, people post apologies often enough. You'll see them every once in a while. 5150 didn't start a trend, people try to makeup for things they did.
-
-
people may think i am bullshitting. but i am telling you this from experience. last year i tweeked for about three months and i sold it about the the whole time and i had to drop out of school like 4 different times. i have been going to drug classes since i was 15 for various things. i dont want to explaine my drug life story with you guys but i am trying to say that if you are thinking about spinnin the shezee, DONT DO IT!
-
the hardest part about getting off drugs is people, or as they say, people places and things. you don't really fit in with straight people till you've been clean for a couple of years, and you can't hang out with people still using. thats why they have 12 step programs, **** drug classes, go where you'll find people you can relate too, people like yourself people who messed up, allot, many times. where staying straight is an accomplishment and not something you should have done all along. People who don't know, really don't know. and its really not as lame as you think it might be.
-
Joey, I don't think that most of the younger people in here(myself included, im 14) are going to be more likely to start up a bad habit by hearing these peoples stories, I think if we are going to be influenced one way or another theses stories would probably help those who are tempted realize it's a bad decision and keep clean.
Althoug I don't want to I have to agree with you khakisrule, most people do try and make up for things they've done and aren't so proud of, especially here where there are few people that are dumb enough to be mean to them for it.
-
I am a bit confused here.
Hey 5150, I am very sorry you had to go through the drug life. My take is don't try it, if you don't want to get stuck on it.
On another note, I am a bit concerned as to the way some people take constructive criticism.
Palemoon, the criticism you got from Conf1rm3d_K1ll was constructive. To tell you the truth, I myself have no idea what you are saying at times. I have not been here for long and I have been having problems understanding what you are saying. I am educated under the American system and you make "american english" (your so call english) look extremely bad and that's not good. I just think at times, we as individuals need to learn to take criticism and better ourselves.
I don't think this site was created to see whose better but to generate knowledge about things we are not so knowledgeable about.
I am not trying to offend anyone and if I do I am sorry, but i just think we should all look at the big picture. Are we posting so that some can understand or do we want all to understand?
Just my take on things...
Peace, love and Guidance...

Well here I am again Mr. Confusion. In short in youth and any youth makes mistakes (ponders if this is clear). One makes a mistake and then turns to peers to say oops messed up (is this confusing?) In age there are drugs also most times they are not real fun, thin the blood, one pill to undo the reactions of another until you end up with a damn tray labeled S M T W T F S and your primary Dr. of 20 years sends you off to a specialest. And you wake up each day and nothing in the body you have had your entire life is the same, but hey they say your getting better. Perhaps in my age now I pay for the mistakes of my youth, but at least I made mistakes and sometimes though rare someone believed in me. I speak in concepts I am sorry for this concepts have no instant answer. But I do have one thing compassion and wishing to support someone especally if thay stand in the open and say I was wrong. Why is that concept I had of the Elder/Mentor Thread cause I can and want to :) OOps did it again huh? LOL

During a review of the hospital facilities, the Director and Doctor walking down the ward notice a man jerking off. The Director asks the Doctor, you wanna explain that.... The Doctor then explains that the patient has a rare disease where sperm fills in his testicals and that he needs to ejaculate once an hour to releave the pressure or he can die. Well, the Director says, that sounds logical. As the Director and Doctor continue down the ward, they happen by a nurse giving a patient head.... The Director turns to the Doctor, "How you gonna explain that", the Doctor calmly turns to the Director and says."Same disease, better health care plan".

drugs CAN help people..theyve helped me. if used in avery conservitive way, and dont abuse them, then can be very very theriputic. jsut be strong enough not to let them rule your life and your ok.... the only drugs i say are usefull for theriputic value are MDMA, LSD IN MODERATION, marijuana, and Pslylociben mushrooms. They can cause very philsophical and inspiring moments. i do agree that ndrugs can harm people though. if used incorrectally they can definetally harm people.

I was busy typing a nice long story, a mini-autobiography, but just as I was about to click "Submit Reply", the most of Cape Town's power went off. Sooo, here's the concise version:
One thing I don't like about people, is their tendancy for judgement and narrow-mindedness. In the spirit of this thread, I'm talking about people's conception of drugs and drug-use in general. Throughout my whole life I was told that drugs were bad, bad, bad. My parents, my school teachers, many of my friends and motivational ex-junkies. Surprisingly to myself, I listened to and learnt more from the ex-junkies that the others. They after all had been through the whole drug experience and knew what it was about. But there was one problem: They were ex-junkies. All of them got into trouble with Herion.
My drug career started a couple years ago. The night of my first pill (no, marijuana is not a drug, in my eyes) was something incredible. A short time after forcing the bitterness down, and a while on the dance floor, the music started taking a hold of me. I can't really describe what happened afterwards. For the following few hours I was in total euphoria. I felt the music tickling my skin, taking total control of my body. I only stopped dancing to drink water. For those few hours, I was a child once again, with not a care in the world. My world consisted of a couple hundred people all in the same trance as I. It was perfect.
This is somewhat the same sort of experience most people go through the first time they take ecstacy. People say that the first time is always the best. I totaly agree with them. But, for some strange reason, there are others that continualy try and reach this high. 20-40 pills a weekend plus a couple grams of coke, just to reach the same euphoria as the first time. In a way, these are the people that gave drug taking a bad name. They are the abusers. I have a small group of friends that take on infrequent occasion. In this way, we give our bodies the break they need to recover. Like the old saying says: "Absense makes the heart grow fonder". This is true. We average using once every six months or so. We know ourselves and our limits. We know how much our bodies can handle and when we need to stop.
If you are going to become a drug user, please become a responsible one. If you are goign to experiment, do it. But do it so you know, and never have to do it again. Educate yourself. find out as much as you can about whatever you are going to take. During this proccess of education, you can have second thoughts.
If you must: Use drugs, don't abuse drugs.
P.S. Under no circumstance should you take: heroin, mandrax and opium. You will regret it.
-
Try being on it for three years. Than we'll talk about it.
-
my first time was late 1999.
2002-1999=3 hmmmm
-
I have very liberal views on drug use and would agree that speed is bad news for almost everyone.... Hope you're able to work your prob's out 5150.
Educate, rehabilitate; don't incarcerate...
-
Drug abuse is bad, recreational use is not bad. But I don´t realy know anyone who has managed to keep it at a complete recreational level.
On the other hand I live in Sweden.. Somehow we have a tendency to overdo certain things. We can´t even controll alcohol. :(
