avdven, Play the lottery much.... That is one high price tag you are looking at...
-
hehe I don't play the lottery but I have money to burn. I'll probably never buy any of those machines (I already have enough workstations and servers including two IBM AIX UNIX machines and a few mid-range Dell servers). I would love to have those, but why spend that much money on one computer when I can just as easily buy 3 or 4 mid-range machines and cluster them to make one high-end machine? I figure, aim high, and settle for just below that. :-)

I have the ultimate computer. It runs on 4 AAA batteries, never crashes, never needs updating and it boots faster than you can blink. Just what it’s this uber computer called? Well it’s a TI-83 graphing calculator of course.
-
im talking the following:
15 9GB 15k RPM harddrives running raid 0
dual athlon mp 1900+'s
GF4 Ti 4600
3GB Crucial PC 2700 DDR
Asus A7V333
water cooled system, OC'ed ofcourse
Dual Booting Linux & XP Pro (For all the games that Wine doesn't handle well)
-
a C64 that ran win 3.1 that way i had ALL the cool games OR in reality i consider a dream machine anything you build urself no matter if its a 233 :) just my 2cents
-
hmmm.... Sunfire 4800
no really.... I dont game so vid card and processor speed really arent my bag... right now I'd settle for another 4200 array enclosure for my proliant rig with 14 9.1gb ultra3 10k drives
(currently running 20 9.1gb ultra3 10k's in raid 5 with duplexed storageworks 4200 controllers on a proliant 3000 with 2gb of ram, dual PIII 500's, dual power sup's and a remote insight board (lights out edition).... the use??? mp3 server it's all in the drive I/O baby....
-
16 Node Beowulf cluster.
Each node:
Dual P4
1GB DDR RAM
Gigabit ethernet to string it together.
If it doesn't dim the lights on the whole block when it boots, it ain't strong enough. *grins*
-
anything 10x better than what is the best computer right now >:-)

-
triple boot redhat, slackware, win2k
quad 2.4xeon
4 gigs ddr

black alienware case with liquid cooling
4x48x24x52 dvd-rw
black keyboard/mouse
2 2 terabyte hd's
5pc 500 watt speakers, with an old sound blaster live! :)
100/1000 ethernet card with OC3 connection, i could maybe settle for t3 ;) if i had my own server too
-
i would have to agree with the triple boot, mrcoffee 12.
though, i would have mac os 9.*, redhat, and win2k triple boot coupled with a flat lcd screen that is large enough to cover a whole wall area [so that the ubersoldats are lifesize!]
-
I like your thinking...
doobedoobedoo!
-
-
I do not have high demands but it would be nice with a (soon retired?) doobedobedoo.
-
A brand spankin' new Comedore 64. . .no not really. . .I want one of everything that's been mentioned, and one of everything that's ever been made. . .
-
Anything not friggin running windows for crying out loud!?!?! lol, no.. I can't think of my dream system right now, all it really need's is loads of memory, and a neat fix to it.
-
Hope this link works. This would be a nice system for me:

It's either...
A quantum computer (or anything that's so high-tech that it
gives you shivers in the spine) that is so fast it'll disassemble
XP and convert it to your favorite flavor of C++ before you
say "heeel-lo babe"...
or
A supercomputer that's so old that your box is atleast ten
times faster and strange enough that it'll give you hours
of fun just to see if you can do another "Hello, World!"
Oh yea, C64 fans, take a look at this:

-
well based on everyone elses ideas with some things i have never heard of, the asci white would be rather nice, but the prob is where to fit it?
4 clustered (i think thats the right term) SGI o2's or similar would be nice for unix / linux and most games i think
dual AMD 2400 w/ 2 or 3 gig DDR or RAMBUS RAM, 200 or so gig hard drive space (probly a RAID setup), either a 128 meg geforce card or voodoo 5 or 6, t3 net would be nice, 21" flat screen, 3d sound and infra red mouse and keyboard, all the other usualy little things too (burner, dvd etc)
would dual book win 2k pro and xp corp or pro
