In efforts from keeping myself from getting banned, I will leave this individuals name secret. I have recently been approached by two users with multiple light & dark green dots. These two individuals offered me 100 / 150 AP's for $5. up to $20. I have also been sent this and said if I said anything I will be banned...
Take 'em down. For god's sakes, their peddling AP's. How f#cked up can you get? Let them ban you, just create a new account and come back on. It'd be worth it to have them taken down for trying to pull this sh!t.
I agree grass them in, after all, if they have all these greenies then they've got more to lose than you by getting banned!

Masta, You sure have a following of newbies, but I would keep my mouth sealed shut unless you received a personal letter from JP or had a huge backing by the veterans of the community. You know how politics work, just remember everything you seen on the base that really irks you, the same stuff happens here and everywhere else every day.
Send an email message to JP about it.. That way, he can varify that they said something to you, and he will take care of the problem.....

Now I highly doubt your first statement. Either you are hoping people will pm you and you have a second account with multiple green dots and want to get paid for it, or you are going to try and like about someone who has done nothing wrong. If you are not lying, then tell JP. NO MEMBER SHOULD REACT TO WHATEVER HE SAYS. DO not listed to him. JP will take care of it, IF HE IS NOT LYING.......
I agree with Army and Soleman. Talking about it openly will only make things worse for you. The best thing you can do is tell JP about the alleged abuse and maybe you can get some satisfaction.

If you are trying to claim that that was emailed to you, it was not by a person with a lot of green dots.. None of the people that were assigned points lost very many. At most, the person that made the assignment had 1 or 2 dots......
The only thing I don't know.... It wasn't you that made the assignments. Your "user tends to assign" bar is still in the middle.
Masta, the one huge flaw in your post is that if that were indeed sent to you as you claim, number one, nobody who is in the 'upper echelons' of the community would be doing that, because that many Negative APs would have made the thread suicide. Secondly, these people deserved to be named, if they do indeed exist, so the rest of us can neg them off AO. :)
BTW, we'll know if you're lying by who you name.
For some reason I think you're lying about some of that, I got some negs with the same message "balance is key" Show us the messages and then talk to JP if you're not BSing.

I find one flaw in the story of this thread just how these so called users expect to get their money in return for points? What send via pay pal, just how would they even collect and what would the profit margin be $10 $15 bucks? Common this story is just one of pure fiction what is it how I extorted 10 bucks at AO thread? Geez most members can charge up to $130 an hour for constulting work. I'm still laughing here if it's real then JP knows about now. Me I think something smells here

Anyway, whatever the case, JP will find out if indeed there is abuse going on. Palemoon also had a good point about the e-mail asking for money in exchange for points. Why would anybody do that?

I'm one of those that was hit with a "balance is key" negative points comment.. didn't seem to get hit for too many points though, so whoever it was doesn't seem to carry much clout and there was no great loss involved. They shouldn't just be unloading and balancing themselves like that, but if they are reported, and it will likely be noticed by JP, the issue will be put to an end.
I don't really think it was masta that sent the negs. His ap balance on given is 50/50. Unless of course he has himself another account or has just monitored his point loads so well that he has truly given out as many + as -.. but now why would he want to do that.

When I first came on I was complaining about how a few of us signed on and was neg'd for posting roll calls. I received an IM after a chat on IRC. The chat stated they would sell me AP's. I would pay, but how would I know if I could trust the individual? They could easily ban me after the transaction? Then I recieved the same sort of offer from another individual. That is where that part came in. I also received an e-mail from goobersnot spelled in 37334 from hotmail with that clip stating, if you start **** on this topic I will ban you. So there you have it. There have been other offers for AP's for cash in IM format, and if I could prove I would get them. Yes, I would have paid...
[FB-Army] Masta, the money thing still does not make sense. How on earth will you pay? How did they want you to pay? Cash? CC? Check? Money Order? Why pay it? There is no use, and it's silly.
I would get JP involved so he can to to the bottom of this. Something is still not jiving here...
I didn't catch on either, at first. The thing is that Masta didn't make that any posts in the OS thread, and it is doubtful that, that many people gave him negs. I got those negs with "balance is they key". I doubt that people gave him that many negs in so short a timeframe, since I am looking at that thread (what os), and find no posts by masta, and also see that the thread is extremely positive. I think souleman was right, thanks souleman, I think you caught him. So either masta has been giving out those negs, or somebody close to him took a screenshot and gave it to him.Quote:

Not that I disbelieve you, I want to believe what you are saying is true - but surely you have a copy of the email, IM history logs etc..., after all you kept a copy of the image sent to you - something that would corroborate your allegations.
At the end of the day you are not answerable to me or anyone else, but you are the one who has raised serious allegations of misconduct among members of this community and this should be backed up with proof. Where I come from it's basically the ability to, as they say, "Put your money where your mouth is".
Ok. So whoever "goobersnot" is, is the one that has been doing the multiple "balance is key" antipoint assignments. There is no user called goobersnot though, so that must be another nick that person uses.
Do you have copies of the IM's that you were sent? what IRC client do you use? Do you have logs of the messages? From the screenshot he sent you, his account doesn't have that many points, and its obvious that he couldn't give you 100 antipoints, or ban you.... It would take a LONG time for him to do either one..
Here's the deal. The only person that assigns more points at any one time then me is negative. Depending on a few different things, I normally assign between 35 and 45 points at a time. It would take me about 4 negative assignements to ban someone that has no antipoints. For the person that sent you that, it would take them like 20, because they are doing less then 10 points at a time....
Has anyone else received these messages? I am not asking if you paid the guy or what not, just if you have recieved any messages like this.

You will notice that i made the post and didn't immediately assign any negative points also, because I wanted to give you a chance to explain yourself. I also wanted to let you guys know, that I am pretty sure, that the maximum amount of times a person can assign APs to one person is 3. I've experimented and figured that out last month, though it may be different for others, I find it hard to believe that this person was able to neg like 10 times in an hour.

Before I read this thread I wanted to wait the third before contacting JP. Now I will do it immediatly.
As I said before, I got one of those "balance is key" Antipoints but they only dropped me six points. [FB-Army] is just full of sh*t and trying to get attentioin.
All this stupidity is giving me a headache. We have a majority of our threads based on b*tching, moaning, groaning, complaining, whinning, and everything else on that nature. There is something like 10 [FB-Army] members, and they are all based on the same Army base. It could have been any one of them, or there could be some SMALL truth to what he is saying. The thing is. We have all noticed there have been issues that have been getting everyone all up-tight and who ever is doing this, is most likely getting his kicks from us getting all worked up about it. Can we all just calm down, forget about AntiPoints, Suicide Threads, and everything else that is P*ssing everyone off, and let this individual or individuals get bored and leave? If they are doing it to annoy people or get others to respond its working. We all are a bit fed up with whats going on, but we don't need to start a new thread about it every day. That is just my personal opinion, and I would really think it would make everyone a little bit less frustrated if we dropped it for a while.

<edit>I wish I knew who this person is so I could square things up with him, I deserved the negs he gave me ( and he must be respected here because it hurt ) and I will try to not be so much of a father figure ( that seems to make the younger than I generation quite upset ) One thing for sure is that I intend to stay and learn here, and I always answer the requests to contact the user about the assignment.
