Best Wishes John
John, I'm happy to see you devote and place your knowledge, and wisdom into research and wish you the best. I'm sad because without you AO will not be the same after all how can one live without the Grump? Will stick around the site to keep in touch with people I respect and have read for years. To Newbies that think everything is free or should be otta put in the hours this one man has to this site. In short nothing is free and one can only give so much before the real world of life dreams, family and bills to pay this site has changed many times over the years. John go for that life you seek :) research will afford a normal day for you an income. Best wishes to you and those you include in the dreams, above all Peace, and while a simple term, it can be peace of mind, heart and soul. Reality has set in good luck :) now to my real world also.

WOW.....I guess I'm kinda in shock. I'll join Palemoon in wishing you only the greatest success in your future endeavors....but I gotta say that this place will NOT be the same without you running the show. I only hope that whomever does purchase AO will bring to it the same devotion and vigor that you have shown. Good luck JP...you deserve it!
-
Yeh, shock here too.. not gonna be the same... oh well, hopefully someone good will buy it and uphold it to their best abilities.
-
yes! good luck jp, hope you get your price!
-
Best of luck to you JP. :hello:
-
All I can say is if I must subscribe as in pay a yearly fee to the site I would matter of fact can write it off as a business expense. If it would nix the hotmail, yahoo, Warez noise level face it quality of many posts and some may include mine or I others has been reduced. Ya get what ya pay for and I'd pay, if just to read the tuts some very good ones that new users do not even bother to read before they post.
-
Good luck with your future endeavors. I have been reading this site for a long time now, and I can say it won't be the same. I hope whoever takes it over keeps up the great service that has been connected with this site for years. Good luck.

Wow, what a thing to log on to at 3am.
I mean, wow.
I thought it was a pop-up ad over the main page at first.
Well I hate to see the founder go, but if you must let something aside, I guess it's the best thing to do.
Goodluck JP in all your research and endevors, hope you stick around every now and then and say "HI" :hello:
Take care JP!
-
OMG!! where would we go?? what would happen to us??? i got no where to run now! AO is my home!
-
JP - Thanks and good luck. I am willing to bet that some security company will purchase Antionline and you can retire young! Thanks again.
-
I normally despise these "shout out to JP threads"...:D
Thanks, John. Your site helped build my already massive ego over the last 15 months... I hope the new owner doesn't want to make to many changes. Us Aussies fear change... :( We're just starting to use electricity.
Good luck and all the best.....
I still think Negative would be a brilliant Webmaster...hint, hint
-
this comes as a surprise, i was only off the net for about 3 hours and this is all of a sudden happening, JP you've made this site such a hive of knowledge over the 2 or so years that I have been browsing around, what ive read and seen here is only a little bit of what the site is about and the knowledge ive gained from here is invaluable and this is one of few places on the web that you can go and be confident that what you are told or advised is what youre looking for...
hopefully the change wont make too much of an impact as i usually spend a good 2 or so hours a day when im online just looking at what is on offer and what is to be gained, we will all miss you here JP and good luck with your future ambitions
MrLeachy :)

I've visited the site for about a year now and I'm very thankful for all the entertainment it has given me. I can imagine how time consuming maintaining such is, and JP has thrown in a lot of hours (and cash) to provide us all a free service.
Therefore JP, thank you for now and good luck with your future plans. Hope you get a good price for the site!

This is so sad, i love AO and its members.
Banned from a security related BBS I came to Antionline, But with the same false perceptions of hacking. But Antionline helped me, it helped me mature.
Antionline is a place where I am acepted, where I can call home. I learned many things here at antionline. I learned how to build a server, how to ask questions, and how to act my age.
And for you JP, the founder of antionline, It is to you I must thank, without you it where would I be today. Thank you for makeing this place I call home.
Thank you
-
goodbye John
I think the many people who comprise this site felt a kinship with you as you do with family, they feel as though a family member( a brother if you will) is leaving. i could see that when I came here. Good luck Auntie
-
Change is inevitable. Good luck with future plans. Try to get a good price, unfortunately having me here doesn't help the outlook! HA! If this was a car dealership, I'd be a Skoda surrounded by Corvettes. Time to start thinking up domain names I guess. I wonder if pornocopia.com is taken? Whatever. Good luck kind sir!

What can I say...
I hate to admit it, but AntiOnline has been a huge part of my life for the last 15 months.
Sometimes I've been wondering if it's healthy to spend all your free time on a -let's face it- artificial community.
AO is much more than just a security portal. It's a way of life, it's a micro-cosmos. An artificial micro-cosmos, but still a micro-cosmos.
It's been interesting to see people evolve over the last year. It's been interesting to see myself evolve over the last year.
I've made friends here, I've lost friends.
I've seen lots of people come, I've seen lots of people go. And now it's time for John to move on. Good luck ;)
-
Ive only been on here around a month and im already addicted. I hope the site wont change too much. Even though i dont know JP personally thanks for providing us users with a free place to share and in my case gain knowledge. :argue: :argue: :argue:
-
wow.... i dont visit for a few days and the place is for sale....... geeze! all i can say (other then the good luck that everyone else is saying) is DONT sell to any M$ people or anything like that....... cause id HATE to see www.antionline.com link to www.microsoft.com......... i mean........ thats like a sin!
-
am i dreamin or this place is really for sale....
please tell us it's a joke.
-
John I have been watching your community for about a year now and I have learned that even online there are places that feel like the lounge behind the comp. lab.
I'v been praised, I'v been flamed, I'v been ignored, I'v been listened too.
I will miss the feel of a few very smart people trying to make order where there is none.
Good luck and I hope you get everything out of life that you want
Still lurkin and learnin
-
Good luck JP, thank you for the time which have been and good luck with your future projects.
Its sad to see and it makes me wonder what I will come back to in February. Is it the same AO or a strange unknown place ?

I as well, wish JP all the best of luck in his new ventures.
But what will happen to us??? Will this site be basicly the same when the new owner steps in, or will it be so far out of wack that AO loses its great features!?
Change can either be good, bad, or maybe nothing will change at all... It just makes me a little nervous because this site has been essential to my knowledge of internet security and I don't want it to fade! :(
-
Good luck in everything you do JP. Thanx to the site and the IRC i have made some great friends and some i have come to love like a relative ( alexzel for one ).
Once again good luck and i hope the new owners dont wreck the place and keep the IRC
-
Good luck with your research,
hope you leave the site in the hands of GOOD people,
and ofcourse we still have Negative and all the rest.
be sure to pop by evry now and then..

I remember when I just started here. I remember coming here before, then I thought to my self, hey, what was that site agian? I remembered and came here. I remeber when I logged onto IRC for the first time, no one knew me, I knew no one. I just sat there and read what everyone had to say, then I started to talk, I've made quite a few friends. Jp, with out you Antionline will never be the same. If something happens to this site, I just want to say I love all you. You thought me well, Antionline was what inspired me to make unError. Though the day unError is as good as Antionline is the day I laugh and laugh for it will never be as good as Ao, I spend most of my days here. I didn't see the selling of antionline comming....hopefully, someone smart and someone that will look after it will buy it. I say we all pitch in some money. ;) My best wishs John, come back and say Hi to us. We'll all miss you.
Best of Luck

This is a TOTAL shock to me and I can't believe that this place will go for a major change. I know that we won't have the same new features any more since JP is smart with those codings/ideas/etc. I'm just surprised yet happy that even in the month and a half I've been here, I've managed to help and learn more than I thought, MUCH more. Thank you JP and I hope your future is greater than ever.
-
I wish you all the best JP... Good luck in all that you do... Take care you will be missed
-
wow I logged in and said, HUH? then I said ah, must be a joke, or other ruse...
but I guess its for real :( ... I think Im in shock.
Well JP, thanks for all, and best wishes...

Good luck JP, may the future be bright and prosperous. We saw what you did with this site and it is still one of the best ever.Where-ever you are going, they can only benefit from your knowledge.
best wishes

bah id just like to say that without you JP, i wouldnt have met all the people here whom got me into computers, that i spent my summer with, etc... ive made some good friends, and you people listened to my **** when i was down. JP just do one thing: Give this place to someone who will take care of it. Not just someone who buys it to do whatever they want. Dont sell it just for money, sell it to someone who is willing to spend the time you once did and still do on it.

a big shock for all of us,
although I'v been flammed, praised, ignored etc...
but i do like this site and the members around, for a while i felt like the site is going down if JP sold it, but then i discovered that .....
we r the site ... by visiting the site evryday adding new ideas, discussions, tutorials, security issues bla bla .... by this we keep the site active , we r the food and air for the site ....
so if i wanna say something ... i wanna promise you that we will take care of this site as well take care of each other .
salam brother.
